Paham komunisme di Indonesia masih dinilai sebagai hal yang membahayakan. Semua hal terkait komunisme, mulai dari mantan pelaku—yang terkait langsung maupun tidak—hingga simbol-simbol pergerakan, masih dilihat sebagai bentuk yang harus dilawan.

Indoktrinisasi anti-komunis telah dilakukan melalui berbagai macam cara. Pemerintahan yang berkuasa ketika itu melakukan legitimasi dan distribusi paham anti-komunis, salah satunya melalui produk-produk kebudayaan, semisal film, novel, bahan ajar di sekolah, buku paket, hingga museum.

Hal itu ditandaskan Wijaya Herlambang, penulis buku Kekerasan Budaya Pasca 1965: Bagaimana Orde Baru Melegitimasi Anti-Komunisme melalui Sastra dan Film, dalam acara bedah bukunya, Rabu (12/3), di Dekanat Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Semarang (FBS Unnes). Acara yang merupakan diskusi putaran ketiga Forum Studi Morfem Bebas ini dimoderatori oleh redaktur Tribun Jateng, Achiar M Permana.

“Persepsi masyarakat telah digiring supaya memiliki pemahaman  yang sama, bahwa segala hal yang berkait dengan komunisme layak untuk dihilangkan dengan cara-cara yang sadistis,” ujar alumnus University of Queensland, Australia, itu.

Dia menulis disertasi yang kemudian ia bukukan itu berdasar pada banyak kegelisahan. Misalnya, dia menyebutkan, mengapa masyarakat Indonesia benci dan takut terhadap komunisme, dan bagaimana pola pikir masyarakat bisa digiring sejauh itu—bisa secara bersama bersikap anti-komunisme.

“Sejak belia, masyakarakat sudah didoktrin anti-komunis dengan diwajibkan menonton film G30S/PKI sekali dalam setahun yang disiarkan stasiun televisi negeri maupun swasta. Film itu adalah alat legitimasi kekuasaan Orde Baru yang ampuh untuk membenamkan paham anti-komunis,” kata Jay—sapaan akrabnya, di depan ratusan peserta diskusi.

“Padahal, hingga saat ini tak ada yang mampu membuktikan para penganut paham komunis itu bertindak sekejam dan sesadis yang dicitrakan selama ini,” jelasnya. Jay membutuhkan waktu empat tahun untuk melakukan riset yang mendalam atas disertasinya itu.

Posisi Karya Sastra

Sendang Mulyana, dosen Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FBS Unnes yang menjadi pembedah buku, menyoroti posisi sastra dalam kaitannya sebagai produk kebudayaan. Menurutnya, sastra sangat lekat dengan realitas masyarakat tempat karya itu lahir. Akan tetapi, sangat mungkin terjadi hal-hal di luar realitas yang memungkinkan sastra tidak cuma hadir sebagai karya imajinatif.

“Sastra sangat mungkin menjadi alat legitimasi yang ampuh untuk menggiring masyarakat kepada satu pemahaman yang diyakini kebenarannya. Oleh sebab itu, jika sastra telah ditunggangi kekuasaan, maka besar kemungkinan ia tak lagi cermin dari realitas dan imajinasi pengarang,” katanya.

Sendang mengatakan, dibutuhkan kemandirian untuk dapat melawan para agen kebudayaan yang secara tidak langsung membenamkan paham-paham yang tidak sesuai dengan tujuan negara. “Karya sastra juga makin dikuasai oleh perorangan atau komunitas tertentu,” imbuhnya. Diskusi serupa juga dilaksanakan di kampus Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Diponegoro (FIB Undip), Rabu (12/3) malam.
