Hingga hari kedua Pelatihan Master of Ceremony yang digelar oleh UPT Pusat Humas dan Protokoler Unnes, antusiasme peserta ternyata tak juga berkurang. Lebih-lebih ketika sampai pada praktik. Tak urung, hal itu membuat seorang narasumber menyampaikan pujiannya kepada para calon pewara di Universitas Konservasi ini.

“Di sini terlihat banyak potensi yang bisa ditingkatkan kualitas ke-MC-annya,” kata Martha Sasongko, praktisi dan penyiar TVRI Yogyakarta ketika menjadi narasumber pada pelatihan master of ceremony (MC), Rabu (20/6) di ruang 405 gedung H Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) kampus Sekaran.

Martha menuturkan, sebagai tuan rumah suatu acara atau kegiatan, Master of Ceremony (MC) berperan mengumumkan susunan acara dan memperkenalkan orang yang akan tampil mengisi acara. Ia pula yang bertanggung jawab memastikan acara berlangsung lancar dan tepat waktu, serta meriah atau khidmat dari awal hingga akhir. “Sebagai pengendali acara, mereka juga harus mempunyai sikap tenang, kepercayaan diri, dan kredibilitas yang kuat,” tuturnya

MC yang baik, menurutnya, harus memiliki suara yang enak didengar, alamiah (tidak dibuat-buat), vokal yang jelas dan powerfull, serta memperhatikan intonasi, aksentuasi, dan artikulasi. “Tentu saja seorang MC harus lancar berbicara, yaitu ringkas, langsung ke inti, tidak bertele-tele, jelas, langsung dimengerti, tidak membingungkan, pengucapan kata demi kata dilakukan dengan jelas, dapat didengar dengan baik, dengan kekuatan penuh, lancar, dan mengalir,” kata penyiar radio Petra FM Yogjakarta itu.

Sukses Acara
Sebelumnya, Hendi Pratama dosen Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Unnes mengungkapkan, kesuksesan sebuah acara, apa pun jenisnya, sangat ditentukan oleh MC. “Sebuah acara bisa monoton dan membosankan bila MC kurang cekatan,” katanya dalam bahasa Inggris.

Pembicara lain, Kepala Bagian Hukum dan Kepegawaian Unnes Soelami menegaskan, mengacu pada Permendiknas Nomor 47 Tahun 2006, yang perlu diperhatikan dan disiapkan dalam keprotokolan adalah urutan jabatan, susunan acara, tempat pelaksaan, pakaian, naskah-naskah pelantikan, dan perlengkapan upacara.

Acara ditutup oleh Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerjasama Unnes Prof Fathur Rokhman, yang menandaskan bahwa ke depan, kegiatan ini akan dilaksanakan dengan jumlah jam yang lebih banyak.

Prof Fathur juga berharap walaupun pelatihan hanya dilakukan selama dua hari, tentu yang terpenting adalah peserta mampu mengaplikasikan keilmuan yang didapat dari pelatihan ini. “Saya mengharapkan ke depan setiap subbagian mempunyai keprotokolan sendiri yang mampu mengatasi masalah MC.”

Acara yang diikuti 85 peserta ini, menurut Ketua Panitia Ariyani Widiastuti, bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan secara mendalam bagaimana menjadi MC yang baik, mulai dari persiapan, praktik, hingga menutup acara secara berkesan.

“Selain itu juga mengetahui kendala teknis yang akan dihadapi dan cara mengatasi berbagai persoalan ikhwal membawakan acara,” kata staf UPT Humas yang biasa menangani keprotokolan itu.
