Sebanyak 23 mahasiswa asal Thailand dan Malaysia mengikuti Enjoyeyable Course of Conservation and Indonesian Culture (E-Conut)di Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) mulai Senin (29/10). Dalam program tersebut, mahasiswa luar negeri ini belajar tentang konservasi Unnes dan budaya Indonesia.

Para peserta berasal dari Dr King Dongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi Thailand, Naresuan University Thailand, dan University Malaysia Sabah. E-Conut kali ini merupakan yang pertama kali diselenggarakan.

“Program E Conut merupakan media promosi Unnes ke universitas luar negeri. Program ini berhasil menarik perhatian, tidak hanya di negara tetangga seperti Malaysia dan Thailand tetapi juga beberapa universitas di Cina dan Selandia Baru,” kata Prof Fathur Rokhman, Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan Kerja Sama Unnes, saat membuka kegiatan.

Para peserta akan berada di Unnes selama tujuh hari hingga Minggu, (4/11) mendatang. Beberapa kegiatan yang akan mereka ikuti di antaranya pengenalan konservasi, kegiatan konservasi seperti menanam pohon, daur ulang sampah, belajar gamelan, menari, dan membatik.

“Saya penasaran dengan budaya Indonesia sehingga saya mengikuti program E Conut. Saya tertarik untuk mengetahui berbagai program konservasi Unnes, terutama konservasi budaya Indonesia,” kata Jock, mahasiswa asal Thailand.

Dikemukakan, dari beberapa program kegiatan yang dirancang Unnes, belajar membatik adalah kegiatan yang paling disenanginya. “Saya paling senang belajar membatik. Keren banget,” ucapnya sambil tersenyum.

    bukan brrti mo su’udzon, tp saya kadung jengke dengan malaysia….dlu para seniornya belajar di indonesia setelah berhasil malah menginjak2 martabat indonesia, berapa kebuadayaan milik bangsa ini dicuri oleh malaysia, jangan2 bntar lagi konservasipun yg digagas oleh anak bangsa ini dimodiv malaysia untuk memporak-porandakan bangsa kita tercinta ini….maaf bukannya emosi, tp waspada ga da salahnya to

    Disaat muda-mudi negeri ini asyik meniru & mengagumi Gangnam Style, K-POP, dll budaya dari luar, pemuda dari manca negara semakin kagum & asyik mempelajari gamelan, membatik, dan berbagai macam budaya unik di negeri ini.. Mestinya kita lebih bergairah dalam mempelajari budaya lokal kita yang adiluhung.. Sungguh ironi….

    Harvard, RMIT, Yale, Cambridge, n oxford diajak kerjasama pak rektor, eman eman kalau ngajak kerjasama dengan Malaysia, kualitasnya gak lebih bagus dari UNNES.
