Membuat lubang biopori ternyata sangat mudah. Biopori bisa dibuat di dasar saluran, di daerah tergenang, maupun di batas taman maupun paving block. Namun, tidak setiap orang mengetahui manfaat besarnya.

Oleh karena itu, mahasiswa Jurusan Jurusan Kurikulum dan Teknologi Pendidikan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Unnes kembali mengajak masyarakat untuk membuat biopori di lingkungan terdekatnya.

Kegiatan yang diselenggarakan bersama Badan Lingkungan Hidup (BLH) Kota Semarang ini dipusatkan di RW 02 Perumahan Akasia, Sampangan, Gajahmungkur, Semarang.

Sekretaris Badan Lingkungan Hidup Kota Semarang Ir Gunawan Wicaksono mengatakan. program pembuatan biopori juga dicanangkan oleh Pemerintah Kota Semarang. Pemkot Semarang mencanangkan program pembuatan lubang resapan biopori ini di sekolah-sekolah.

“Pelatihan ini sangat bagus karena sejalan dengan program Pemkot, diharapkan warga masyarakat paham akan biopori dan manfaatnya, kata Ir Gunawan.

Ir Gunawan menyarankan, sebaiknya bor yang digunakan jangan bor tipe U saja, dikombinasi dengan bor tipe spiral sehingga mudah digunakan jika menemukan permukaan tanah yang berkerikil atau berpasir.

Lurah Sampangan Bambang Sri Wibowo menyampaikan, kelurahan Sampangan sangat mengapresiasi pelatihan ini “Bak gayung bersambut” karena terbantu untuk masalah sanitasi lingkungan.

“Kelurahan Sampangan sangat terbantu untuk masalah ini, apalagi RW 02 dirujuk untuk lomba K3 antar Kecamatan se-kota Semarang Juni ini,” kata Lurah Sampangan.

Ketua pelaksana kegiatan Moh Syaiful Anwar menyampaikan pelatihan ini mengangkat tema mengenahi lingkungan yakni sejalan dengan Unnes sebagai universitas konservasi. Masalah lingkungan merupakan salah satu dari pilar konservasi.
