Sebanyak 30 mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Pembelajaran Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (PPM) Jurusan Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat, Akuntansi, dan Hukum mengadakan acara Peron Expo di desa Peron, Kecamatan Limbangan, Kabupaten Kendal, Minggu (19/10).

Acara yang dihadiri oleh Kepala Bidang ESDM Kabupaten Kendal Drs Imam Tajudin dan Kepala Pusat KKN Dr Dwijanto MS bertujuan untuk mengembangkan wana wisata Watu Sumong sebagai kawasan ekowisata berbasis pohon aren dan pemberdayaan masyarakat secara berkelanjutan.

Tak hanya itu, KKN di Desa Peron ini juga turut memasarkan potensi wisata seperti Watu Sumong dan air terjun yang belum terekspos oleh masyarakat.

Progam KKN PPM ini adalah progam lanjutan dari hibah KKN PPM tahun 2013 yang fokus kegiatannya tentang hasil produk dari aren. Desa Peron memang memiliki banyak pohon aren yang selama ini dipelihara warga sebagai penghasil gula aren, gula aren semut, dan sapu ijuk.

Kepala Pusat KKN Dr Dwijanto MS berterima kasih kepada semua pihak yang telah membantu terselenggaranya KKN PPM.

“Saya ucapkan terima kasih kepada semua pihak yang telah membantu keberadaan KKN di sini, dan juga kepada kepolisian dan TNI disini yang juga turut menjaga keamanan KKN di desa peron ini,” katanya

KKN di Desa Peron yang dimotori oleh tim pelaksana Eram Tunggul Pawenang SKM MKes, Indah Anisykurlillah SE MSi Akt CA, Anis Widyawati SH MH ini sudah memiliki beberapa progam di antaranya pengemasan dan pemasaran hasil olahan aren, pengenalan obyek wisata Watu Sumong, pembuatan blog, pengolahan limbah aren menjadi pupuk organik, pelatihan pemanfaatan ijuk, daun dan akar dari pohon aren, dan pelatihan pembuatan MoU untuk membuat perjanjian kerja sama dalam promosi wisata.

Kepala desa Peron Sugiyono menyambut baik kehadiran KKN universitas negeri semarang (unnes) yang telah merubah wajah desa peron ini, “terimakasih kehadiran mahasiswa unnes di desa peron ini yang telah merubah sedikit demi sedikit terumatama di infrastrukturnya apalagi telah mempromosikan desa wisata ini.

Drs Imam Tajudin mengatakan “diharapkan kegiatan seperti ini dapat mengggerakkan usaha kecil menengah serta dapat lebih memperkenalkan produk-produk unggulan lokal dan dapat memasarkan potensi alam yang dimiliki, sehingga dapat menjadi destinasi wisata baru di kabupaten kendal.”

Selain itu, KKN PPM di desa kedungboto kecamatan limbangan juga memiliki progam yang hampir sama. Desa kedungboto memiliki potensi alam yang besar di bidang pertanian dan perkebunan, diantaranya aren, karet, padi, pisang, ubi, dan jagung.

KKN yang di motori oleh tim pelaksana Kiswanto SE MSi, Drs Fachrurrozie MSi, Rudatin Windraswara ST MSc telah membuat beberapa produk makanan diantaranya egg roll, widaran/cheesh stick, dan tepung jagung yang semua bahan bakunya dari jagung. Tak hanya itu, pupuk kompos juga telah diproduksi dari daun pohon karet dan kotoran hewan.

mahasiswa unnes Eko Aji Saputro mengatakan “pemasaran agak susah, karena desa ini jauh dari kota. Untuk pergi ke kota lebih dekat ke kota Temanggung daripada ke Kendal, selain itu jalannya pun masih banyak yang rusak”.

Sedikit demi sedikit, produk yang dihasilkan ini sudah tersebar di beberapa wilayah, seperti di desa limbangan sendiri, Sumowono, Bandungan, dan Semarang.

Kiswanto SE MSi berharap, melalui diversifikasi ini produk olahan jagung akan mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat.
