Jeddah—Program kursus Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) yang diselenggarakan oleh Konsulat Jederal Republik Indonesia (KJRI) Jeddah kian diminati warga Saudi dan ekspatriat yang tinggal di Jeddah dan kota-kota sekitarnya.

Terbukti jumlah pendaftar yang berminat menginguti program BIPA dari tahun ke tahun kian meningkat. Program ini sebelumnya diadakan sekali dalam setahun. Peserta beralasan belajar bahasa Indonesia karena bekerja pada muassasah yang melayani jemaah haji dan umrah. Sebagian mengaku perlu menguasai bahasa Indonesia karena melayani peziarah asal Indonesia di konter-konter imigrasi dan keamanan di bandara. Sebagian lagi mengaku mereka bekerja di sejumlah perusahan importir dan perusahaan yang memasarkan produk Indonesia di Arab Saudi.

“Biasanya BIPA hanya diselenggarakan sekali dalam setahun selama tiga bulan. Tapi tahun ini kami tambah menjadi dua kali karena banyaknya permintaan masyarakat di sini yang ingin belajar bahasa Indonesia,” ujar Konsul Jenderal (Konjen) RI Jeddah, Mohamad Hery Saripudin.

Untuk menjawab animo masyarakat, imbuh Konjen, KJRI Jeddah kembali mengadakan Program Kursus Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) gelombang II  untuk 2018 yang dibuka secara resmi oleh Konjen RI Senin (15/10).

Pembukaan Program Kursus BIPA gelombang II yang diikuti sebanyak 62 peserta berlangsung Senin malam (15/10) waktu setempat di Lobi Utama KJRI Jeddah. Peserta terdiri dari 50 orang warga Saudi, 8 warga negara (WN) Yaman, 1 WN Yordania, 1 WN Amerika Serikat, dan dua peserta masing-masing berwarga negara Mauritania dan Pakistan.

Menurut panitia, dalam tempo dua pekan, sebanyak 107 orang mengajukan berkas pendaftaran meliputi formulir yang telah diisi, fotokopi paspor, kartu identitas, pas foto, keterangan tertulis seputar tujuan belajar bahasa Indonesia dan surat izin dari sponsor bagi warga non-Saudi.

Pengajar BIPA gelombang II ini adalah Hasan Busri MSI dari Prodi PENDIDIKAN BAHASA ARAB Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) sebagai hasil upaya kerja sama yang dirintis KJRI Jeddah dengan perguruan tinggi di Ibu Kota Jawa Tengah tersebut.

Di hadapan peserta yang hadir pada saat pembukaan, Konjen menyampaikan, program kursus BIPA merupakan wujud dukung Pemerintah Indonesia terhadap visi 2030 Pemerintah Arab Saudi, yang salah satunya adalah pengembangan sektor pariwisata sebagai bagian dari kebijakan diversifikasi ekonomi.

Hal ini juga sejalan dengan penetapan Madinah sebagai “Ibu Kota Wisata Islam 2017″ dalam pertemuan menteri parisiwata negara-negara OKI  pada 2015 silam di Niamey, Ibu Kota Nigeria.

Konjen menambahkan, jumlah jemaah haji dan umrah Indonesia mencapai lebih dari 1,2 juta orang dengan konsentrasi pergerakan mereka di tiga kota: Jeddah, Mekkah dan Madinah.

“Apalagi Pemerintah Saudi mencanangkan destinasi wisata baru di kota-kota lain yang terbuka untuk pengunjung umum, tentu ini akan membawa dampak ekonomi,” pungkas Konjen.

Program kursus BIPA gelombang II diagendakan akan berlangsung hingga bulan Desember.
