Lima mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) akan mengikuti Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Kebangsaaan di Kabupaten Bengkayang, Kalimantan Barat. Bersama mahasiswa dari perguruan tinggi lain, mereka ditugaskan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat perbatasan tersebut selama 40 hari.

Kelima mahasiswa tersebut adalah Danuh Pautraka (Sendratasik), Rahma Noor Alifah (Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar), Andi Kurniadi (Pendidikan Guru PAUD), Shobiechah A Wulandari (Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat), dan Fiqih Bimo Sasongko (Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi).

Kepada mereka, Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum berpesan agar menjadikan pengabdian tersebut sebagai kesempatan menempa diri menjadi pribadi yang lebih tangguh. Selain itu, ia berharap mahasiswa dapat belajar dari masyarakat setempat.

“Selama ini Unnes banyak dilibatkan dalam kegiatan kemahasiswaan nasional dan bahkan internasional. Dua ciri khas mahasiswa Unnes adalah santun dan tangguh. Karakter ini yang harus ditunjukkan kepada masyarakat,” katanya.

Kabupaten Bengkayang di Kalimantan Barat merupakan daerah yang berbatasan dengan Sarawak, Malaysia. Daerah bertopografi pegunungan ini ditinggali oleh masyarakat Dayak, Tionghoa, Melayu, dan sebagian kecil Bugis .

“Hormati nilai-nilai yang hidup di masyarakat setempat. Di mana bumi dipijak, di situ langit dijunjung,” lanjut Rektor. “Salah satu karakter kebangsaan kita adalah multikultural. Ini kesempatan untuk mempelajari budaya masyarakat lain.”

Ketua Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) Prof Dr Totok SUmaryanto menjelaskan, KKN Kebangsaan adalah skema KKM yang diselenggarakan Dirjen Dikti. Tahun ini, kegiatan tersebut dikelola Universitas Tanjungpura (Untan) Pontianak.

“Bersama mahasiswa dari universitas lain, mereka akan dilepas oleh Mendikbud M Nuh pada 10 Agustus,” kata Totok.

Ia menambahkan, selain mengikuti KKN Kebangsaan, dalam waktu dekat pihaknya juga akan mengirim 15 mahasiswa dalam KKN Terpadu Relawan Guru Sobat Bumi. KKN skema ini difasilitasi oleh Pertamina Foundation. Peserta KKN akan ditugaskan di Papua.

    Selamat kepada 5 mahasiswa Unnnes Danuh Pautraka, Rahma Noor Alifah, Andi Kurniadi, Shobiechah A Wulandari, dan Fiqih Bimo Sasongko. Semoga keikhlasan pengabdian saudara menjadi amal ibadah yang menghantarkan kesuksesan. Betul sekali apa yang disampaikan oleh Prof Fathur Rokhman bahwa dua ciri khas mahasiswa Unnes adalah santun dan tangguh. Kesantunan dan ketangguhan saudara di dearah perbatasan akan menjadikan mental yang kuat dengan budaya, bahasa dan latar belakang yang berbeda. Jaga kesehatan dan berdoa. Salam konservasi.

    weh asyik dong….jadi ingat 30 hari riset masyarakat di perkebunan sawit kabupaten sanggau kalbar, tetangganya kabupaten bengkayang………trackting data sampai melewati entikong border……terus nyebrang malaysia…..tebedu….serian….balik entikong lagi…….

    yang KKN ke papua di kabupaten mana ya…..apa ada yang di kabupaten Mimika?……..sayang mahasiswa jurusan sosiologi-antropologi tidak ada yang ikut…..

    kita semua warga Unnes diharapkan untuk mendoakan para mahasiswa yang santun dan tangguh2 tersebut untuk mengabdi pada negeri melalui KKN Kebangsaan. Itu baru sebagian kecil sumbangsih Unnes Konservasi terhadap pemberdayaan masyarakat perbatasan. ditunggu semangat dan kesempatan mahasiswa lainnya untuk mengikuti jejak kebaikan itu. bulan agustus Unnes juga akan mengirim Mhs untuk Program Relawan Guru Sobat Bumi ke Papua. semoga mhs Unnes makin santun, tangguh dan selalu memegang teguh nilai-nilai konservasi. Bravo and proviciat.

    trimakasih infonya prof totok…selamat utk lp2m dan unnes…..provinsi papua dan provinsi kalimantan barat adalah tempat riset etnografis yang sangat eksotis dan sulit terlupakan…..
