Dengan kompetensi yang dimiliki, dosen mempunyai tugas dalam mengembangkan perguruan tinggi tempat ia bernaung. Maka, menjadi dosen yang “gila” dan memiliki potensi di atas rata-rata adalah salah satu jalan meraih kesuksesan dan bermanfaat bagi semua.

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Fathur Rokhman MHum mengatakan itu saat memberi pengarahan pada pengambilan sumpah/janji Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) Unnes, Selasa (27/8) di rektorat kampus Sekaran.

“Gila” menurut rektor tentu bukan dalam artian sesungguhnya, tetapi “gila” pada keilmuan kemudian tidak puas dan akhirnya menggali potensi, termasuk belajar banyak hal.

Mereka yang disumpah/Janji berjumlah 176 orang terdiri atas 112 orang tenaga pendidik dan 64 tenaga kependidikan. Penandatanganan secara simbolis tenaga pendidik oleh Hendi Pratama MA, tenaga kependidikan Niken Dhuharini SPd. Sebagai saksi Pembantu Rektor Bidang Administrasi Umum Dr Wahyono MM, Kepala Biro Administrasi Umum dan Kepegawaian Anwar Haryono MPd.

Lebihnya di mana? kata Rektor, mungkin ada dosen PPKn mempunyai kelebihan menjadi juru dakwah, dosen Kimia mempunyai kelebihan bahasa Inggris, dosen Bahasa Indonesia mempunyai kelebihan dibidang informasi dan teknologi (IT) dan kompetensi lainnya.

Selain itu, kata Rektor, dosen harus mampu berkomunikasi dengan baik kepada pimpinan, mitra kerja, dan masyarakat. Saat ini komunikasi diukur dengan jenjang yang diraih, semakin tinggi jenjang yang diraih maka tingkat komunikasinya akan meluas.

Rektor juga mengemukakan, ketika anda bercita-cita akan menjadi seorang guru besar, maka komunikasi anda bukanlah komunikasi hanya di wilayah Indonesia saja tapi di wilayah internasional melalui publikasi karya-karya anda di tingkat internasional.

Peristiwa hari ini merupakan peristiwa langka hanya sekali anda alami dan disaksikan oleh seluruh isi alam ini juga oleh Allah. Sumpah/Janji anda akan ditagih sepanjang hidup anda dan juga akan ditagih oleh Allah. “Oleh karena itu, sejauh mana Anda memegang sumpah/janji anda dalam mengimplementasikan pada kinerja, dan nilai kesuksesan yang akan Anda raih,” tegas Rektor.

    Kalau dosen dan tenaga kependidikan harus “gila”, bagaimana dengan para pemimpinnya (Kaprodi sampai Rektor) pak rektor? tentunya sebagai pemimpin harus “lebih gila”, karena eksistensi dan prestasi individu dan organisasi atau lembaga (termasuk PT Unnes) juga tergantung kepada kompetensi individu dan para pemimpinnya. The right man in the right place….so pasti setujuuu?

    I am very agree, jadilah kita PNS yang berani perbuat, berani berpendapat demi kemajuan Unnes, Unnes dibawah kepemimpinan Prof Fatur saya yakin demi demokratis nyatanya siapapun kita boleh usul, menyampaikan unek-unek baik via telp, sms, boleh juga kirim email langsung kepada Rektor, kegilaan kita.. bisa disalurkan tanpa harus takut, was was tidak disukai pimpinan, kepangkatan ditunda dll… tapi harus ingat sesuatu yang berlebih tentu tidak baik, alangkah bijak kalau apapun masalah kita cobalah diselesaikan dengan pimpinan terdekat kita secara santun dan beretika. Janganlah kita jadi pegawai terbaik tapi diam tidak mau berbicara (wis pokoke meneng manut pimpinan-red)… tentu ini sebuah pilihan, tinggal kita pilih mana? jadi pegawai biasa atau yang selalu “menggila”.

    Saya lebih suka yang “alamiyah” saja. Untuk meraih kesuksesan dan manfaat ilmu, tidak harus yang “gila”. Kalau “gila”, kesannya ambisius dan tidak punya akal pikiran. hitam jadi putih, putih jadi hitam.
    Makanya orang “gila” itu hanya mengenal dunianya sendiri, tidak bisa mereka memasyarakat.
    Apa tidak ada kosakata lain untuk dosen selain kata “gila” ????
