Rasio antara siswa dan guru di Indonesia termasuk “mewah” dibandingkan dengan kondisi serupa di sejumlah negara seperti Singapura, Malaysia dan Korea. Di Indonesia satu guru melayani hanya 18-20 siswa sedangkan di tiga negara tetangga tersebut satu guru melayani 22-24 siswa.
Demikian dikatakan Prof Dr Samsudi MPd Direktur Program Pascasarjana (PPs) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) di sela-sela pelaksanaan tes S2 Kepengawasan bekerjasama dengan Direktorat pembinaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Menengah (P2TK Dikmen), Selasa (3/7) di Quest Hotel Jalan Plampitan Semarang.

“Guru di Indonesia termasuk ‘mewah’ karena melayani jumlah siswa sedikit, Namun kenyataannya kualitas pembelajaran guru di Indonesia tidak lebih baik dari kualitas pembelajaran di Singapura, Malaysia, dan Korea,” kata Direktur PPs Unnes.

Prof Samsudi yang juga ketua pelaksana tes S2 Kepengawasan ini juga menyoroti tentang sistem pengembangan karir yang kurang pas di lembaga kependidikan. Misalnya kepala sekolah yang sudah usia lanjut (tua) dimutasi dan ditempatkan di Kepengawasan sehingga kinerja guru akhirnya berjalan seadanya. Karena kerja pengawas untuk memotivasi guru akan berbeda, pikiraanya juga sudah loyo, katanya.

Direktur PPs juga mengemukakan selama ini banyak pengawas sekolah yang tidak mempunya ilmu dasar tentang kepengawasan. Pengalaman menjadi kepala sekolah tidak bisa sebagai dasar ilmu kepengawasan dan akan repot manakala memberikan bimbingan supervisi kepada guru. Jika sejak awal mereka punya ilmu tentang kepengawasan maka hasilnya akan sangat berbeda.

“Penyelenggaraan program S2 Kepengawasan dari Direktorat P2TK Dikmen ini merupakan salah satu upaya menyiapkan tenaga Pengawas Guru sejak awal dilengkapi dengan ilmu kepengawasan,” tegas Prof Samsudi.

Dia menambahkan program S2 Kepengawasan ini kompetisinya lumayan ketat jumlah pendaftar ada 158 orang, setelah diseleksi administrasi diambil 100. Ke 100 orang ini diundang untuk mengikuti tes tulis dan wawancara, nantinya akan diambil 50 orang mendapat beasiswa penuh pendidikan selama 2 tahun meliputi biaya hidup, uang buku, dan penelitian.

    Setuju Mas Agung, mudah-mudahan semangat pengabdian sebagai guru tidak luntur oleh gemerlapnya dana sertifikasi, mari kita ingat…..guru-guru di daerah terpencil…..

  3. Untuk apa, gaji yang sedemikian besar, tetapi semangatnya semangat dagang. kalau mau jadi guru, harus punya mental pendidik. Kalau tidak punya mental pendidik, jangan jadi guru.

    memang sudah diteliti apa kalo 1 guru hanya melayani 18-20 siswa di Indonesia????? kalo bikin artikel jangan asal ya… banyak kok guru yang punya dedikasi… kalo dibandingkan dengan negara tetangga jangan satu aspek aja… perhatikan faktor yang lain… kalo mo study kasus ambil framework pendidikan mereka yang sudah terstruktur (kurikulumnya) terutama jepang… begitu spesifik sesuai dengan kebutuhan saat ini dan yang akan datang sehingga tetap survive sebagai negara maju… ayo pengawas… tuangkan idemu…

Prof yang 1 ini mungkin hanya mengambil sampel di kampungnya kaliiii ,,,, coba lihat guru di papua dengan jumlah siswanya,,, terkadang satu guru untuk satu sekolah, 1 guru merangkap semua pekerjaan mulai dari pekerjaan kepala sekolah sampai kepada tukang tutup buka pintu sekolah setiap hari dikerjakannya alias kerja sendiri karena tidak ada guru!!!
