Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) bersepakat menjalin kerja sama dengan King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) Thailand. Kesepakatan ditandai dengan penandatanganan nota kesepahaman, Jumat (21/10), di Thailand.

Kerja sama tersebut meliputi pertukaran mahasiswa dan dosen, pengembangan bahan ajar terutama bahasa Indonesia dan Thailand, kolaborasi penelitian, dan seminar internasional bidang konservasi lingkungan dan budaya.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerja Sama Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum yang memimpin rombongan mewakili rektor Unnes mengungkapkan, sejak mendeklarasikan diri sebagai universitas konservasi, Unnes telah mengembangkan berbagai program. “Program itu meliputi sektor fisik yakni konservasi biodivesitas, pengembangan sumber daya manusia, dan nonfisik seperti budaya dan nilai dalam rangka menjawab tantangan isu global,” kata Prof Fathur.

Unnes, menurutnya, berupaya mengembangkan diri untuk meningkatkan standar internasional lembaga melalui berbagai peningkatan keunggulan inovatif delapan fakultas dan akses kerja sama internasional. “Penandatangan MoU ini merupakan upaya memantapkan kerja sama yang telah terjalin melalui pengiriman dosen Unnes untuk mengajar bahasa Indonesia di universitas ini. Unnes telah menjalin kerja sama bidang matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam dengan Nareswan University,” tuturnya.

Riset kolaboratif

Ketua Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Drs Bambang Budiraharjo MSi yang turut serta dalam rombongan mengemukakan, pemerintah Indonesia melalui Direktorat Pendidikan Tinggi memfasilitasi program riset kolaboratif antara perguruan tinggi di Indonesia dan perguruan tinggi luar negeri yang telah memiliki MoU. “Kerja sama ini merupakan bagian strategis dalam rangka meningkatkan akses riset kolaboratif antara Unnes dan perguruan tinggi di Thailand,” ungkapnya.

Pada bagian lain, KMUTT menyambut baik upaya kerja sama yang dilakukan Unnes. Presiden KMUTT yang diwakili Vice President for Researchm Prof Dr Bundit Fungtammasan berharap kerja sama yang dijalin berkembang dalam berbagai bidang. “King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi memiliki beberapa program studi unggulan yang berpeluang untuk dijadikan sebagai program dual degree/joint program dengan program studi relevan yang dimiliki Unnes,” tandasnya.

Sebagai langkah awal implementasi, KMUTT akan segera mengirimkan tiga mahasiswa terbaiknya ke Unnes melalui program Enjoyable Course of Conservation and Indonesian Culture (E-Conut). Mereka akan berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa Unnes untuk mengenali konservasi Unnes.
