Pengalaman magang di instansi pemerintah dan perusahaan sangat berguna untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mahasiswa. Begitu pula bagi mahasiswa yang diterima menjadi student staff di sejumlah unit kerja di Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES).

Dosen Bahasa Indonesia UNNES Surahmat SPd MHum menyampaikan, ada empat kesempatan yang bisa diraih student staff, yaitu kesempatan mengembangkan kecakapan intelektual, kecakapan sosial, finansial, dan simbolik.

Ia mengatakan hal itu itu saat menjadi narasumber Pelatihan Kemampuan Pendukung Reputasi UNNES bagi student staff, Kamis (9/3) di rektorat kampus UNNES Sekaran Gunungpati. Pelatihan diikuti 20  student staff.

Menurut Surahmat, kecakapan intelektual mencakup pola pikir, kecerdasan, dan wawasan luas. Kecakapan sosial meliputi kemampuang membangun relasi, cara berkomunikasi, dan bekerja sama dengan orang lain.

Kemudian, modal yang ketiga yakni modal finansial yang merupakan modal pendukung untuk memaksimalkan potensi. Adapun modal simbolik yaitu kemampuan membangun makna dengan memanfaatkan hal-hal yang bersifat simbolik.

Setiap modal ini saling berkaitan dan dapat berakumulasi untuk mewujudkan keseluruhan modal. Student staff diharapkan dapat belajar dan mengeksplorasi semua pengalaman itu sehingga berkembang menjadi pribadi yang baik.

Narasumber kedua, Suhro Enikmah SE, student staff bidang rotokoler 2015 UNNES menyampaikan, untuk menjadi pribadi yang baik dan menarik student staff harus fokus pada tugas, ramah, penuh hormat, tampil percaya diri, berpenampilan rapi, komunikatif, semangat, dan selalu menjaga nama naik.

Sedangkan narasumber ketiga Rochsid Tri Hanggoro Putro SPd dari UPT TIK UNNES menjelaskan tentang penggunaan TIK secara bijak. Setiap mahasiwa khususnya student staff harus bijak dalam menggunakan media sosial.

Menurutnya, media sosial seharusnya digunakan untuk memberikan info dan pengetahuan UNNES ke pihak luar. Dalam kesempatan ini, juga diluncurkan blog untuk menginformasikan kegiatan student staff dilaman studentstaff.unnes.ac.id.
