Dua mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Sabtu (5/5), akan bertolak ke Jakarta dan selanjutnya menuju Jepang untuk mengikuti program JENESYS.  “Kedua mahasiswa itu Muzaki Bashari dari Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni dan Siti Rosidah dari  Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam,” kata Prof Fathur Rokhman Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerja Sama Unnes, ketika mengantar mahahasiswa pamitan kepada Rektor Unnes di ruang Rektor Gedung H Lantai II kampus Sekaran Gunungpati Semarang, Rabu (2/5).

Program JENESYS adalah program yang mempromosikan pertukaran pemuda di kawasan Asia Timur dengan tujuan memperdalam rasa saling pengertian di antara para remaja yang merupakan generasi penerus yang akan berperan penting di negara negara peserta. “Dua mahasiswa Unnes dinyatakan lolos seleksi mengikuti program ini selanjutnya akan bergabung dengan 70 mahasiswa dari berbagai Universitas di Indonesia,” katanya Prof Fathur.

Rektor Unnes Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo menyatakan cukup bangga terhadap prestasi mahasiswanya. Keikutsertaan mahasiswa dalam program JENESYS ini diharapkan mampu mendukung Unnes menciptakan suasana akademik bernuansa internasional yang kondusif.

“Lewat program ini hendaknya bisa dihasilkan pemikiran-pemikiran baru yang inovatif, pengalaman internasional, serta pemahaman lebih baik mengenai perbedaan sosial budaya,” tutur Rektor.
