Dewan Pertimbangan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) diharapkan lebih optimal dalam menjalankan fungsi dan perannya untuk memberikan pertimbangan non-akademis kepada pengelola universitas ini. Dewan juga diharapkan juga tidak dibebani pada urusan operasional keuangan.

Harapan tersebut mengemukaka dalam refleksi akhir tahun Dewan Pertimbangan bersama jajaran pemimpin Unnes, Senin (30/12), di rumah dinas kompleks kampus  Kelud. Refleksi yang dibuka oleh Rektor Prof Fathur Rokhman, diisi dengan paparan dan diskusi yang dipandu oleh Sekretaris Dewan Pertimbangan Prof Maman Rahman. Hadir tiga mantan rektor, Prof Retmono, Prof Rasdi Ekosiswoyo, dan Prof AT Soegito serta para pembantu rektor, dekan, dan kepala biro.

“Berdasarkan Statuta, keanggotaan Dewan Pertimbangan tujuh orang yang antara lain terdiri atas tokoh masyarakat, tokoh pendidikan, dan alumni,” kata Prof Maman mengawali paparannya.

Mantan Direktur Pascasarjana Unnes  kemudian mengungkapkan, selama ini sudah beberapa kali Dewan Pertimbangan bertemu dengan pucuk pimpinan Unnes untuk memberikan masukan.  “Pada pertemuan 26 September 2012, misalnya, disepakati untuk setengah tahun pertama menggeber citra Unnes lewat berbagai publikasi. Selain itu, mendekatkan diri pada mahasiswa yang berasal dari keluarga kurang mampu secara ekonomi. Tidak hanya dengan pengoptimalan pemberian beasiswa Bidikmisi, tapi juga lewat beasiswa dana setia kawan,” kata Prof Maman.

Untuk yang disebut terakhir itulah, kemudian pihaknya membuka rekening, menggalang dana, dan menyebarkan liflet agar berbagai pihak agar berpartisipasi dalam penghimpunan dana setia kawan masyarakat. “Sempat berjalan, terhimpun, dan tersalurkan, namun belakangan makin seret,” katanya.

Kesulitan lain, kata Prof Maman, komunikasi di antara anggota Dewan Pertimbangan. “Berkali-kali kami menginisiasi pertemuan, tapi hamper selalu terbentur pada kesibukan masing-masing anggota sehingga dalam beberapa hal kami belum bisa berjalan dengan optimal,”  katanya.

Terhadap kondisi tersebut, para mantan rektor berharap Dewan Pertimbangan bisa lebih optimal dalam menjalankan fungsi pertimbangan non-akademis. Diharapkan pula mereka tidak pada urusan operasional, apalagi operasional keuangan. “Kalau memang ada hambatan, yang tidak optimal ya dioptomalkan, kalau strukturnya tidak efektif, ya direstrukturisasi,”  kata Prof Rasdi menyarankan.

Menanggapi hal tersebut, Rektor berjanji untuk memfasilitasi restruturisasi Dewan Pertimbangan dan Dewan Penyantun dengan cara yang  santun. Dia juga mengharapkan semua mantan rektor masuk dalam dewan tersebut.
