Demo massa bukan merupakan satu-satunya gerakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah, meski bisa digunakan sebagai senjata pamungkas kalau semua jalan untuk berkelahi di wilayah intelektual gagal.

Pernyataan tersebut dikemukakan tokoh politik Nasional Fadjroel Rahman dalam Dialog Nasional “Revitalisasi Makna Sumpah Pemuda dalam Upaya Perbaikan Bangsa” yang digelar oleh Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Keluarga Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (BEM KM Unnes), di gedung C7 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS), Jumat {19/11).

Pada acara yang dibuka oleh Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Dr Masrukhi MPd itu, Fadjrul menjelaskan, untuk menghadapi praktik politik yang salah, mahasiswa tidak perlu capek-capek keluar keringat untuk mengadakan demo. “Kalau memang itu salah, ada beberapa cara untuk menghadapi,” katanya di depan ratusan mahasiswa dari berbagai perguruan tinggi di Semarang itu.
Menutnya, ada lima cara yang bisa ditempuh. Pertama, gerakan intelektual.”Yakni dengan mengadakan diskusi, seminar, menulis artikel maupun surat pembaca, menghujani facebook atau twitter, seperti ketika kami membebaskan Bibit dan Candra. Waktu itu ada 1,4 juta orang memberikan dukungan melalui Facebook dan Twitter sehingga mampu mengembalikan Bibit dan Candra yang sudah 4 hari 5 malam di penjara menjadi pimpinan KPK lagi dan kasusnya di-deponering,” katanya.
Kedua, melakukan gerakan yang bersifat legal konstitusional. Ketiga, secara kultural, misalnya dengan membaca puisi atau segala macam aksi seni untuk melakukan penentangan. Keempat, secara organisasional, misalnya dengan menggalang BEM se-Jawa Tengah untuk mempertanyakan suatu kasus yang bisa ditempuh dengan seminar.

Kelima, sekaligus yang terakhir, biasanya yang paling disukai mahasiswa yaitu demo massa. “Tapi kalau dengan yang empat saja sudah selesai, jangan demo massa. Ngapain, capek. Kalau diselesaikan secara intelektual bisa, legal bisa, kultural bisa, dan secara organisasional bisa, tidak perlu memakai senjata pamungkas,” kata tokoh reformasi tahun 1998 itu.

Presiden Mahasiswa BEM KM Unnes Nur Sodiq menjelaskan, acara tersebut merupakan rangkaian kegiatan Pelatihan Kepemimpinan Manajemen Tingkat Menengah (PKMM-TM) periode 2010 yang akan dilaksanakan tanggal (19 – 21/11). “Kegiatan ini sekaligus memperingati 82 tahun Sumpah Pemuda dan 65 tahun Hari Pahlawan,” kata Sodiq.
