Smart Classroom

Smart Classroom

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) has implemented several smart classrooms on its campus. These smart classrooms are equipped with advanced technology and multimedia tools that enhance the learning experience for students and facilitate more interactive and engaging teaching.

The features of the smart classrooms at UNNES may vary depending on the specific classroom, but some of the common features include:

  1. Interactive whiteboards: These are large touch-sensitive displays that allow teachers to display and manipulate digital content, such as slideshows, videos, and interactive learning activities.

  2. Projectors: Smart classrooms are equipped with high-quality projectors that allow teachers to display content on large screens or walls.

  3. Audio systems: Smart classrooms have high-quality audio systems that enhance the sound quality of lectures, discussions, and other audio content.

  4. Wi-Fi connectivity: Smart classrooms have high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity that allows students to access online resources and engage in collaborative learning activities.

Overall, the smart classrooms at UNNES provide a modern and engaging learning environment that supports the university’s mission of providing quality education. These classrooms enable teachers to create more interactive and dynamic learning experiences for students, which can help to improve student engagement, participation, and learning outcomes.

Encourage the Smart Eco Campus Initiative
Smart Classroom and Smart Laboratory are tangible forms of Universitas Negeri Semarang’s initiatives as a Smart Eco Campus. UNNES Smart Eco Campus has a goal to create sustainable development in the campus environment by utilizing technology and science. Thus, the Smart Classroom and Smart Laboratory are built with an integrated electric system that contributes to reducing electricity use on campus.

Mission to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
This innovation also answers the urgency of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). UNNES continues to play an active role in developing various concepts and methodologies that are implemented so that SDGs in Indonesia can quickly be realized. Especially in the current pandemic era, education is one of the areas with the greatest impact. Educational institutions are pushed to continue ensuring inclusive and equal education for all, in accordance with the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Quality Education. Hence, the Smart Classrooms and Smart Laboratories were initiated to encourage the quality of education at Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), both online and offline.

Support the “Merdeka Belajar” Program
The utilization of the Smart Classroom and Smart Laboratory is a manifestation of the full support of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) for the “Merdeka Pelajar” program by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). The concept of “Merdeka Pelajar” emphasizes the independence needed by students in the current era, where instead of being pushed to strictly follow the existing curriculum, they can choose the most suitable and comfortable learning method. Aligned with this, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) built the Smart Classroom with flexible tables and chairs so that it can be adjusted to fit the students’ needs and comfort, while the Smart Laboratory provides flexible access for students to be able to conduct experiments at any time with approval.
