Model of cooperation between Universitas Negeri Semarang and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is an excellent cooperation. This cooperation is comprehensive, applicable, and beneficial to both institutions. One of the evidence to the excellence of this collaboration is the existence of ICETVESS (International Conference on Engineering Technology, Vocational Education and Social Science) 2017 at Tanjung Malim Malaysia, 29th – 30th of August 2017. ICETVESS is a collaborative seminar organized by two institutions from different countries.
Rector of UNNES, Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum explained that the trend of cooperation with overseas partners must be applicable. There should be no overseas trips merely becoming an exploratory course. The assessment should be accompanied by academic activities that can be done with partners. All of the cooperation should focus on productive activities. Moreover, in ICETVESS 2017, the committee provided an opportunity for the best article presenters to publish their paper with SCOPUS index. “The Emerging trends of TVET and Social Sciences in Asia Pacific Countries” is the theme of ICETVESS this year, and UNNES sent 43 presenters consisting of lecturers and students.
Not only that, ICETVESS is also accompanied by other activities to support the internationalization of UNNES. The supporting activities which were held by UNNES and UPSI are: Joint Clinic Manuscript UPSI-LP2M UNNES, Visiting Lecturers of UPSI at FT UNNES and discussion of MoU Credit Transfer of Civil Engineering, Family Welfare Education Study Program of UNNES, and FPTV of UPSI.
