Oki Sadma, Indonesian Delegation in ASEAN Youth Summit 2017 from UNNES

Oki Sadma, student of Accounting Department, Economics Faculty, UNNES was chosen as Indonesian Delegation to attend Asean Youth Summit (AYS) 2017 along with 150 youths in ASEAN.
Asean Youth Summit 2017 was held in Manila, Philippines in 5 days from 23 – 27 April 2017. The theme of this event was “Strength in Diversity , Building One Asean Community”. This conference was attended by youths from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Philipines, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, and Kamboja.
This young gentleman has reached many achievements. He is the head of Accounting Student’s Association in UNNES, the awardee of Djarum Foundation scholarship, and the Grandfinalist of Putra – Putri Lingkungan Hidup (Eco-friendly Ambassador) Semarang 2017.
The conference follows the format of ASEAN conference simulation where the delegations were invited to talk and discuss about ASEAN, especially regarding security, politics, economy, social, and culture.
Besides, the event includes coaching session, networking session, cultural night, and manila fieldtrip to their schedule.
Oki explained that this event was very beneficial to widen his knowledge regarding ASEAN and youth. It widens his networking into international relation that helps him a lot to understand the current issues of ASEAN Economic Community. He hopes that there will be more similar events that can give other youths, especially from UNNES, experiences to mingle with International society.
Six Lecturers of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of UNNES to Deliver Presentation in Asia International Multidisciplinary Conference

Six lecturer of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of UNNES become presenters in Asia International Multidisciplinary Conference (AIMC 2017) seminar in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Johor Bahru, Malaysia. They are Novi Ratna Dewi SSi MPd, Indah Urwatin Wusqo MPd, Stephani Diah Pamelasari SS MHum, Muhamad Taufiq MPd from Natural Science Department; and Prof Dr Priyantini Widiyaningrum, Dr Ning Setiati from Biology Department. This international seminar was held in two days, from 1-2 May 2017.
This international seminar was aimed to gather all practitioners, educators, and professionals in one platform to share their latest research and transfer their multidisciplinary academic knowledge to solve the problems in society.
This event was also a dissemination from research published in International Journals with Scopus index. Besides, it also became the place to discuss and widen the network to get a chance of collaborating research which can be implemented in Indonesia, especially UNNES.
The Dean of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty, Prof Dr Zaenuri SE MSi Akt, hopes that the lecturers which become the presenters in the event can get many knowledge and experience. He hoped that those lecturers will share their knowledge to other lecturers and students of the Faculty, thereby they will be motivated to follow their path.
Besides, the Dean was also hoped that the lecturers will get the access of information to continue their study in UTM Malaysia.
UNNES Students Represent Indonesia in Robotics Seminar in Poland

Two students of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) are chosen to attend seminar of GO_PRO! – Regional Programming Centers in Poland at 5 -12 April 2017.
They are Rendy Irawan (Economic Faculty) and Nurseto Nugroho (Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty). Both of them represent Indonesia to meet 30 participants from 7 other countries, including Kenya, Peru, Spain, Croatia, Poland, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Previously, the students have learned about basic robotics and its development in the computer laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Science Faculty of UNNES for a month to prepare them for the seminars.
During the activities, the participants do not only get the training of robotics, but they also get the material of non-formal education and multimedia digital game-based education. This activity is also filled with the championship of robots where Indonesian robots called Garudator get the first place in every fast track and strength competitions.
This program is also the part of Erasmus+ program under the commission of Europan Union. It is also the follow-up program of cooperation between Dejavato Foundation and Meritum as the organization working in non-formal education, like multimedia learning development, robotics, and digital game education.
After this program, the participants will continue the program in their country by holding seminars and training to spread the knowledge they have obtained. Later, this seminar will be continued to the future seminar in Peru, November 2017.
UNNES Rector Became a Keynote Speaker of “International Workshop on UI Greenmetric” in Istanbul

Rector of Universitas Negeri Semarang, Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum, was invited to become a keynote speaker in International Workshop on UI Greenmetric (IWGM) (10/4). The Third IWGM was held in, Istanbul, Turkey. Previously, Fathur Rokhman was also invited to deliver a presentation in the Second IWGM in Jakarta, Indonesia. UNNES, which is ranked as the top 100 university of UI Greenmetric, attracting the committee to give the honor to Fathur Rokhman to present the attempts done by UNNES in becoming conservation university with international reputation.
In this occassion, the Professor delivered a presentation entitled “Raising Awareness and Good Conducts to Build a Conservation University“. In this presentation, he emphasize on the importance of character building and implanting conservation value to human resources of certain university. This presentation was warmly welcomed by 80 participants from 14 countries.
UI Greenmetric is an international ranking system initiated by Universitas Indonesia. This ranking measures the commitment of university in sustaining the environmental conservation. This time, Universitas Indonesia cooperated with Bulent Ecevit University and University of Istanbul in hosting IWGM 2017. For further information, the host of the next IWGM will be Universitas Diponegoro.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, M.Sc., M.M. as the head and coordinator of UI Greenmetric really appreciates the attendance of speakers in IWGM. Riri had seen many positive changes to university included in the ranking. The attempts of the university in “greening” the campus will be platformed in healthy competition. As the coordinator, Riri was also the award recipient of Anugerah Konservasi of UNNES in 2016.
Two Gold Medals in South East Asia-Level Championship Presented as the Special Gifts for 52nd Dies Natalis of UNNES

Karate Team of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) achieved two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals in Southeast Asian University Karate Championship 2017. In the championship held in Sritex Solo Gymnasium, 24-26 March, UNNES delegated 12 students to compete.
Two gold medals of UNNES were contributed by Anggoro Kriswanto in 67 Kg male number and male group number, consists of Winda Setyo, Tegar Bagus S, Dodik Prakoso, Septian W Utomo, Singgih Haryo Wibisono, and Naga Wisageni. The medals were achieved as a special gift addressed to 52nd dies natalis of UNNES.
“We are very grateful to be able to present this medals and bring UNNES’ name to the next level as University of Conservation with International Reputation,” explained Anggoro, student of Sport Coaching Department of Sports Science Faculty to unnes.ac.id, Tuesday (28/3).
The manager/general coach of the team, Muhammad Muhibbi SPd, explained that the championship was held in South East Asian Level involving 595 participating athlete. Not only from Indonesia, but the participants also came from Timor Leste, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and Singapore.
“This result will be evaluated for the next POMNAS, ” he added.
Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum said that the achievement complete the previous achievement.
“In every national or international event, athletes of UNNES must be able to show their best talent for the best achievement,” he affirmed.
In Malaysia, Two Students of Engineering Faculty Follow International Conference and Meeting with World Activists

Two students of Electrical Engineering of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) are going to Malaysia to follow Global Summit on Education 2017. This annual program will be held in Malaysia Berjaya Times Square, Kuala lumpur.
Global Summit on Education will be scheduled in two days, Monday and Tuesday (27 dan 28/3). This international conference will be followed by the international researcher, including students, lecturers, or practitioners.
Two students following GSE Malaysia are outstanding students. Muslim Nuryogi is the outstanding student of Engineering Faculty, 2016/2017 and the Head of Research and Development Bureau of BEM KM Unnes 2017 . The other students is Dieta Wahyu Asry Ningtias as the staff of Staf EneRC FT UNNES and the vice outstanding student of Engineering Faculty 2017.
Both of them will collaborate in presenting a paper of environmental conservation with engineering education basis entitled “Learning media to preserving the Enviroment in urban areas”. It is aimed to insert environmental careness to young generation and recruiting conservation cadres.
Global Summit on Education 2017 will be the conference of worldwide researchers. In that event, all delegates will present papers based on the Trends and Challenges of Education.
Beside international conference, there was also meetings to Malaysian youth activists. The meetings will discuss and share the matters related to higher education and academic collaboration which results can be implemented in Indonesia, especially UNNES.
The Vice Dean of Students Affairs of Engineering Faculty, Dr Wirawan Sumbodo MT wished that the representatives will learn many things from International activities making other students of UNNES being inspired to improve their reputation internationally.
Besides, The Dean of Engineering Faculty, Dr Nur Qudus MT, hoped that the students will also get sufficient access on pursuing graduates study in the country they want.
Nuriyanti Won Second Place in PELTAC Competition, Malaysia

It is stated by Nuriyanti, 8th semester students of History Program, Social Science Faculty, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) after winning the second place of Professional Engineering Leadership Team Work and Awareness (PELTAC) in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Monday (23/1).
Nuriyanti and her team defeated 80 international competitors from Singapore, Chad, Somalia, Malaysia, Syiria and India.
She also hoped that other UNNES students might follow her in championing an international competition.
Championed the SEM Class in Japan, UNNES’ Pandawa Electric Car Team are Ready to Compete in Singapore

After championing the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Class in Okinawa, Japan, UNNES’ Pandawa Electric Car Team are ready to compete again in Singapore, next March.
Anas Fathkur Rahman, one of the team members, explained the competition in Japan was a precious experience for the team to evaluate the existence of electric car.
Anas added that in the next competition in Singapore, Pandawa team will upgrade the car with several innovations, including the adjustment for the rear wheel and the enhancement with full hydraulic brake system.
Besides, the team will also find many other references to make the car work perfectly and achieve the best position in the competition.
Pandawa team consists of students from Mechanical Engineering Department. They are Wisnu Adi, Dias Imawan, Indoriana Putri, Ananta Yoga, Anas Fathkur Rahman (Automotive Engineering), and Purbo Tri Prakorso (Electrical Engineering). Another team member is Zahra Ul Hasanah from Japanese Language Education Program.
Representing Indonesia, an UNNES Delegation performs at the China-ASEAN ‘Opera Concert’

Elyana Alfian Sabtini, a student of Music Education Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Semarang State University represents Indonesia as a Traditional Singer Delegation at the China-ASEAN Opera Concert.
Elyana said that this event will be held on September 20th – 25th 2016 at Naning, Guangxi, China, Tuesday (13/9). “I will be in China with other 11 delegations from China and other ASEAN members (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philipines, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar)”, said Elyana. She added, she will be singing three songs; namely Bengawan Solo, Ricik-ricik Banyumasan, and Perahu Layar.
Rector of UNNES Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum feels grateful that an UNNES delegation takes part in a prestigious event in China. As a delegation, Elyana must do the best and spread the spirit of love from UNNES and Indonesia.
Suhro Enikmah Achieved Gold Medals in the Asian Student Summit 2016

Suhro Enikmah, a Student of the Management Department, Faculty of Economics, Semarang State University (UNNES), who is also an ambassador for UNNES cooperation, was elected as the favorite participant in the meeting of students and Asian nation’s youngsters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
She participated in the Asian Student Summit (ASS) 2016 in Kuala Lumpur for five days from August 15 to 19, 2016. During the meeting, she won two gold medals in the category of Favorite Female Participant and The Best Group.
The ASS program was followed by 73 students from various countries in the Asian region. This year, the meeting was held with the theme “Developing the Next Generation of Leaders in Asia. Transformational Leadership: The Asia in Global History, Global Economy.”
UNNES Student Achieves a Gold Medal in an World Wushu Competition

Students of the Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation (PEHR), Semarang State University (Unnes), Yusuf Widiyanto, donates gold medals in Wushu World Championship 2015. He beat 904 athletes from 74 countries.
Yusuf, a second year student, has won gold on the sanda number (fighting) after winning 2-1 over an athlete from Vietnam, Van Bau To, in Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (18/11).
For Yusuf, his achievement this time was very encouraging. Competing in the World Wushu Championships 2015 was the first time for him to be at senior level. Earlier, Joseph never won a bronze medal at the world championships in Macau junior level.
“This medal is dedicated to Unnes, to Central Java, and of course to Indonesia,” he said. He will still have to fight with the contingent of Central Java in PON 2016, SEA Games in 2017 and Asian Games 2018.
Unnes PEHR lecturer, Henny Setyawati MSi, admitted that Yusuf’s victory is of course a long process of programmed, intensive, ongoing and continuous training. “This process cannot be separated from his humble, disciplined, diligent personality during the process of training,” said the lecturer who is also the International Wushu referee.
According to Unnes Rector, Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum, the achievement completes Unnes previous achievements, “in various international events, Unnes, whose nickname is House of Knowledge, indeed always puts its athletes on the championship ladder,” he said.
UNNES Students Achieved Young Researcher Award in Singapore

Three students of Semarang State University (Unnes) were awarded the Young Researcher Award in the 6th International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) held in Singapore.
The event was organized by Global Research Development Services and took place on 15-16 November 2015. It was attended by researchers, academics, and students from various countries.
The three students are Maulida Azkiya Rahmawati of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, Heru Setiawan of Biology Department, and Royna Nafisatuz Zahro of Mathematics and Natural Science Department.
Before leaving for Singapore, the three students submitted an article to be selected. The article they wrote was considered feasible so that they were invited to present their work at the conference.
By a selection process of Young Researcher Award, the three students performed as an outstanding young presenter. As a token of appreciation for the award, the three students won an award plaque and be freed from all the conference registration fee.
To Begin 2016, UNNES Students Marked Achievements in Malaysia

In the beginning of 2016, Unnes brought a good news. Ten Unnes students attained achievements in Professional, Engineering, Leadership, Teamwork, and Awareness Camp (PELTAC) 2016 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Saturday-Thursday (23-28 / 1/2016) ago.
The ten students are Imada Cahya Unnes Septianingsih from the Faculty of Social Sciences; Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad, M. Hadi Muchlison, M. Adib from the Faculty of Engineering; and Eva Andriani, Eva Oktafikasari, Mustangin, Jariyah, Ami Rahma Noari and Tubagus Fahmi from the Faculty of Economics.
A series of events in these activities consist of seminars, workshops, competitions, cultural appreciation night, gala dinner, and extreme sport.
Some of the accomplishments that were achieved including the 1st Runner Up in a debate champion and 2nd Runner Up in a public speaking competition by Eva Andriani. While Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad, Eva Oktafikasari, and Tubagus Fahmi won the 1st Runner Up position by beating 102 participants from Egypt, Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, and Malaysia. Not only that, Jariyah and Imada were crowned as the best team. While Adib and Mustangin as the best performers.
During the event series, Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad and Eva Andriani also had the opportunity to become a motivational speaker and spiritual journey of training for 200 new students at the College Vocational Slim River (KVSR), Perak Darul Ridzuanto Malaysia. These activities receive a positive response both from officials and teachers in KVSR.
