Nuriyanti Won Second Place in PELTAC Competition, Malaysia

“Do not be afraid to go international in order to make UNNES achieving international reputation”.
It is stated by Nuriyanti, 8th semester students of History Program, Social Science Faculty, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) after winning the second place of Professional Engineering Leadership Team Work and Awareness (PELTAC) in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Monday (23/1).
Nuriyanti and her team defeated 80 international competitors from Singapore, Chad, Somalia, Malaysia, Syiria and India.
She also hoped that other UNNES students might follow her in championing an international competition.
Championed the SEM Class in Japan, UNNES’ Pandawa Electric Car Team are Ready to Compete in Singapore

After championing the Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM) Class in Okinawa, Japan, UNNES’ Pandawa Electric Car Team are ready to compete again in Singapore, next March.
Anas Fathkur Rahman, one of the team members, explained the competition in Japan was a precious experience for the team to evaluate the existence of electric car.
Anas added that in the next competition in Singapore, Pandawa team will upgrade the car with several innovations, including the adjustment for the rear wheel and the enhancement with full hydraulic brake system.
Besides, the team will also find many other references to make the car work perfectly and achieve the best position in the competition.
Pandawa team consists of students from Mechanical Engineering Department. They are Wisnu Adi, Dias Imawan, Indoriana Putri, Ananta Yoga, Anas Fathkur Rahman (Automotive Engineering), and Purbo Tri Prakorso (Electrical Engineering). Another team member is Zahra Ul Hasanah from Japanese Language Education Program.
Representing Indonesia, an UNNES Delegation performs at the China-ASEAN ‘Opera Concert’

Elyana Alfian Sabtini, a student of Music Education Program, Faculty of Languages and Arts, Semarang State University represents Indonesia as a Traditional Singer Delegation at the China-ASEAN Opera Concert.
Elyana said that this event will be held on September 20th – 25th 2016 at Naning, Guangxi, China, Tuesday (13/9). “I will be in China with other 11 delegations from China and other ASEAN members (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philipines, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar)”, said Elyana. She added, she will be singing three songs; namely Bengawan Solo, Ricik-ricik Banyumasan, and Perahu Layar.
Rector of UNNES Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum feels grateful that an UNNES delegation takes part in a prestigious event in China. As a delegation, Elyana must do the best and spread the spirit of love from UNNES and Indonesia.
Suhro Enikmah Achieved Gold Medals in the Asian Student Summit 2016

Suhro Enikmah, a Student of the Management Department, Faculty of Economics, Semarang State University (UNNES), who is also an ambassador for UNNES cooperation, was elected as the favorite participant in the meeting of students and Asian nation’s youngsters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
She participated in the Asian Student Summit (ASS) 2016 in Kuala Lumpur for five days from August 15 to 19, 2016. During the meeting, she won two gold medals in the category of Favorite Female Participant and The Best Group.
The ASS program was followed by 73 students from various countries in the Asian region. This year, the meeting was held with the theme “Developing the Next Generation of Leaders in Asia. Transformational Leadership: The Asia in Global History, Global Economy.”
UNNES Student Achieves a Gold Medal in an World Wushu Competition

Students of the Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation (PEHR), Semarang State University (Unnes), Yusuf Widiyanto, donates gold medals in Wushu World Championship 2015. He beat 904 athletes from 74 countries.
Yusuf, a second year student, has won gold on the sanda number (fighting) after winning 2-1 over an athlete from Vietnam, Van Bau To, in Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (18/11).
For Yusuf, his achievement this time was very encouraging. Competing in the World Wushu Championships 2015 was the first time for him to be at senior level. Earlier, Joseph never won a bronze medal at the world championships in Macau junior level.
“This medal is dedicated to Unnes, to Central Java, and of course to Indonesia,” he said. He will still have to fight with the contingent of Central Java in PON 2016, SEA Games in 2017 and Asian Games 2018.
Unnes PEHR lecturer, Henny Setyawati MSi, admitted that Yusuf’s victory is of course a long process of programmed, intensive, ongoing and continuous training. “This process cannot be separated from his humble, disciplined, diligent personality during the process of training,” said the lecturer who is also the International Wushu referee.
According to Unnes Rector, Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum, the achievement completes Unnes previous achievements, “in various international events, Unnes, whose nickname is House of Knowledge, indeed always puts its athletes on the championship ladder,” he said.
UNNES Students Achieved Young Researcher Award in Singapore

Three students of Semarang State University (Unnes) were awarded the Young Researcher Award in the 6th International Conference on Teaching, Education and Learning (ICTEL) held in Singapore.
The event was organized by Global Research Development Services and took place on 15-16 November 2015. It was attended by researchers, academics, and students from various countries.
The three students are Maulida Azkiya Rahmawati of Indonesian Language and Literature Department, Heru Setiawan of Biology Department, and Royna Nafisatuz Zahro of Mathematics and Natural Science Department.
Before leaving for Singapore, the three students submitted an article to be selected. The article they wrote was considered feasible so that they were invited to present their work at the conference.
By a selection process of Young Researcher Award, the three students performed as an outstanding young presenter. As a token of appreciation for the award, the three students won an award plaque and be freed from all the conference registration fee.
To Begin 2016, UNNES Students Marked Achievements in Malaysia

In the beginning of 2016, Unnes brought a good news. Ten Unnes students attained achievements in Professional, Engineering, Leadership, Teamwork, and Awareness Camp (PELTAC) 2016 at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Saturday-Thursday (23-28 / 1/2016) ago.
The ten students are Imada Cahya Unnes Septianingsih from the Faculty of Social Sciences; Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad, M. Hadi Muchlison, M. Adib from the Faculty of Engineering; and Eva Andriani, Eva Oktafikasari, Mustangin, Jariyah, Ami Rahma Noari and Tubagus Fahmi from the Faculty of Economics.
A series of events in these activities consist of seminars, workshops, competitions, cultural appreciation night, gala dinner, and extreme sport.
Some of the accomplishments that were achieved including the 1st Runner Up in a debate champion and 2nd Runner Up in a public speaking competition by Eva Andriani. While Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad, Eva Oktafikasari, and Tubagus Fahmi won the 1st Runner Up position by beating 102 participants from Egypt, Palestine, Yemen, Sudan, and Malaysia. Not only that, Jariyah and Imada were crowned as the best team. While Adib and Mustangin as the best performers.
During the event series, Jauhandri Arizal Ahmad and Eva Andriani also had the opportunity to become a motivational speaker and spiritual journey of training for 200 new students at the College Vocational Slim River (KVSR), Perak Darul Ridzuanto Malaysia. These activities receive a positive response both from officials and teachers in KVSR.
