Jika Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi (Dirjen Dikti) memutuskan untuk menerapkan uang kuliah tunggal (UKT) di perguruan tinggi, maka mahasiswa mendapat keringanan beban biaya yang harus ditanggung selama masa perkuliahan (8 semester).

Hal ini dikatakan Pembantu Rektor Bidang Administrasi Umum (PR II) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Dr Wahyono MM, Selasa (12/2), saat diwawancarai wartawan di ruang kerjanya.

“Perguruan tinggi (PT) mendapat subsidi Bantuan Operasional (BO) Perguruan Tinggi Negeri dari pemerintah, sehingga beban biaya mahasiswa lebih ringan,” kata Dr Wahyono.

Dalam penentuan besarannya, UKT menggunakan prinsip Akuntansi Biaya (Unit Cost). Jumlah Unit Cost ini merupakan hasil dari penjumlahan semua biaya yang dibutuhkan mahasiswa sesuai dengan jurusan masing-masing dibagi masa studi selama menempuh perkuliahan (8 semester).

Melalui pembiayaan sistem UKT ini, biaya kuliah mahasiswa akan tetap atau konsisten selama delapan semester. Selain itu mahasiswa juga tidak lagi dibebani biaya yang lainnya.

Unnes siap menerapkan UKT ini, namun masih menunggu keputusan dari pusat. Kesiapan tersebut merupakan respon dari Surat Edaran Dirjen Dikti No. 97/E/KU/2013 tertangal 5 Februari 2013 tentang Permintaan kepada Pimpinan PTN untuk menghapus uang pangkal dan melaksanakan Uang Kuliah Tunggal (UKT) bagi mahasiswa baru program S1 reguler.

    “menghapus uang pangkal” berarti mengakumulasi uang pangkal dalam biaya semesteran. sebenarnya sama ja, hanya biaya persemester agak membengkak.

    mari kita sama-sama memahami Uang Kuliah Tunggal (UKT)…ini kebijakan Kemendikbud yang sudah di verifikasi secara detail….jadi pada prinsipnya ini akan meringankan mahasiswa
