Riset merupakan satu hal yang mendapatkan perhatian utama dan telah diakui oleh dokumen negara kita bahwa riset mempunyai kontribusi yang besar yaitu kesejahteraan daya saing.

Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh Direktur Jenderal (Dirjen) Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Dr Muhammad Dimyati saat menjadi keynote speaker di acara ‘1st Unnes International Conference on Research Innovation and commercialization (UICRIC) for Better Life’ yang diselenggarakan oleh Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) yang digelar di Hotel Patrajasa Semarang, Jumat-Sabtu (27-28/11).

Ia mengatakan salah satu langkah yang ditempuh adalah mewajibkan konsorsium, antara perguruan tinggi, pemerintah daerah, dan industri untuk mendorong hilirisari hasil riset ke dunia industri. “Meski dalam skala kecil, penelitian yang terhilirisasi ke industri ini sangat menguntungkan,” tambahnya.

“Sudah saatnya kita memberikan perhatian yang lebih besar terhadap dharma perguruan tinggi yang kedua dan ketiga yakni penelitian dan pengembangan serta pengabdian kepada masyarakat,” tambah Dimyati.

Sementara itu Rektor Unnes Profesor Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum menyampaikan, riset yang berkualitas bukan hanya sebatas dibaca atau dikutip, namun terpublikasi di tingkat internasional dan menjadi pancatan riset selanjutnya.

“Unnes, sebagai lembaga pendidikan tenaga kependidikan (LPTK) memiliki core dalam bidang pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, kami terus mendorong riset pengembangan dan inovasi pendidikan,” katanya.

Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 hari ini untuk mewujudkan visi Unnes menjadi Universitas Konservasi Bertaraf Internasional serta sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas karya-karya penelitian.

Kegiatan ini juga menghadirkan banyak pembicara seperti Prof Chow Yang Lee (Universiti Sains Malaysia), Joop Van De Flier (Nehe Internatioal the Netherlands), Asst Prof Rotchanatch Darnsawasdi (Prince of Songkla Uiversity Thailand), Prof Rahim MD Sail (University Putra Malaysia), Prof Ayami Nakaya (Graduate School for IDEC Hiroshima University Japan).
