Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) Unnes kampus Tegal tidak akan digabungkan dengan perguruan tinggi swasta mana pun di wilayah pantai utara Jawa Tengah itu.

Hal itu ditegaskan oleh Rektor  Prof Dr Sudijono Sastroatmodjo MSi saat melakukan telekonferensi dengan para dosen, karyawan, dan mahasiswa PGSD, Senin (3/10). Rektor berada di ruang kerjanya di rektorat kampus Sekaran, sedangkan civitas akademika PGSD berada di Tegal. Tak kurang dari 160 kilometer jarak di antara keduanya.

“Tidak mungkin negeri mengiduk pada swasta. Logika yang dibangun, jelas salah. Karena itu,tidak perlu risau,” kata Rektor menanggapi isu yang belakangan mengemuka belakangan ini ikhwal penggabungan PGSD ke salah satu perguruan tinggi di Kota Tegal.

Secara khusus, Rektor mengingatkan perlunya para dosen PGSD untuk lebih banyak terlibat dalam kegiatan penelitian dan pengabdian. “Dengan begitu, akan lebih lengkap untuk melakukan tridarma perguruan tinggi tanpa mengabaikan kegiaan utama untuk melakukan pembelajaran,” kata Rektor yang didampingi Pembantu Rektor I Drs Agus Wahyudin MSi, Pembantu Rektor II Drs Wahyono MM, dan Pembantu Rektor IV Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum.

Seiring dengan itu, lanjut Rektor, pelatihan-pelatihan juga perlu makin digiatkan. “Ini merupakan bagian untuk meningkatkan sumber daya yang akan bermuara pada peningkatan layanan kita kepada mahasiswa,” kata Rektor pada pertemuan yang dipimpin Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Drs Hardjono MPd itu.
