Salah satu peneliti Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), Dr Suciningsih Dian WP MSi menciptakan inovasi baru bagi petani Indonesia agar mudah dalam mengakses informasi. Lewat penelitiannya, ia memberdayakan petani dengan membuka akses informasi yang dikemas dalam Sistem Informasi Produk dan Komoditas Pertanian (http://sipaktani.com).

Dr Sucihatiningsih yang juga Ketua Jurusan Ekonomi Pembangunan mengatakan, sistem informasi ini telah diuji coba di tiga kabupaten, Magelang, Grobogan, dan Klaten. Produk difokuskan pada pemanfaatan dan pengembangan teknologi informasi lembaga penyuluhan pertanian untuk meningkatkan ketahanan pangan. “Berawal dari inspirasi konsep sistem informasi akademik terpadu (Sikadu Unnes), peneliti menerjemahkan pada sistem kegiatan kelembagaan penyuluh pertanian” ujarnya, Rabu (13/11), melalui surat elektronik ke unnes.ac.id.

Menurutnya, permasalahan lapangan berkaitan dengan pemberdayaan kelembagaan pertanian, masalah komunikasi, dan teknologi informatika menjadi faktor pendukung dalam penyebaran informasi di segenap lapisan masyarakat, khususnya petani.

“Sarana internet dan telepon seluler merupakan contoh sarana populer sebagai media komunikasi. Kedua layanan tersebut sangat membantu proses penyebaran informasi. Sebaliknya, tidak tersedianya fasilitas internet di suatu daerah menjadi hambatan bagi seseorang dalam mendapatkan informasi dari internet,” katanya.

Dia mengklaim sistem ini sebagai wadah untuk mengelola berbagai data informasi, data base pertanian, dan komoditas sangat diperlukan petani, pemangku dan publik pertanian dalam mengakses informasi secara online. “SMS dan WAP serta web merupakan contoh aplikasi yang bisa dijadikan layanan informasi untuk kepentingan ini,” katanya.

Selain itu, institusi yang dipandang potensial untuk memanfaatkan sistem ini antara lain Kementerian Pertanian, Badan Koordinasi Penyuluhan (Bakorluh), Dinas Pertanian Kabupatan, dan institusi lain seperti Kementerian Perindustrian dan Perdagangan. Akademisi juga dilibatkan dan memiliki akses ke data base sehingga mampu menjadi administrator. “Sistem tersebut dapat memecahkan masalah informasi komunikasi di antara pelaku dan pemangku kepentingan pertanian, petani, pedagang, dan institusi pemerintah,” ungkap Dr Sucihatiningsih.

Sistem ini sudah siap diuji coba. “Pegawai dinas, lembaga pemerintah, balai penelitian, akademisi, wartawan, dan masyarakat umum dapat mengakses sistem ini,” tegasnya.

    Hasil karya inovatif produltif dari hasil penelitian yang sangat membanggakan. Unnes melalui LP2M menunggu karya karya berikutnya untuk akselerasi pencapaian visi dan misi serta Renstra.

  2. Disatu sisi saya pribadi berbangga dengan hasil karya yang diteliti selaku dosen pengajar saya dipasca pendidikan ekonomi (Yth. Dr. Suciningsih Dian WP MSi ) namun dilain sisi sering kali penelitian-penelitian yang berbasis kemasyrakat semacam ini tidak melibatkan mahasiswa yang berkompeten pada bidang tersebut apalagi disinergisitaskan pada kedaerahan mahasiswa walaupun uji coba tentu membutuhkan dukungan lain untuk ikut berpartisipasi mensukseskan maksud tersebut yang tidak semata-mata pengambilkan kebijakan untuk ikutsertakan melaikan yang muda yang bisa.
