Sebaik-baiknya perguruan tinggi di dunia yakni perguruan tinggi yang kaya akan riset dan karya. Sebab saat ini eksistensi dari suatu perguruan tinggi dinilai dari karya yang telah dihasilkan.

Itulah sebagian kata sambutan Pembantu Rektor IV Unnes Prof Dr Sukestiyarno MS PhD pada seminar Nasional IPA VI dengan tema “Revolusi Mental dalam Upaya Membentuk Manusia Indonesia melalui Pendidikan IPA”, pekan lalu di Hotel Grasia Semarang.

Seminar yang diselenggarakan Fakultas MIPA Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) diikuti ratusan orang terdiri atas 214 orang pemakalah dan 100 orang peserta baik dari mahasiswa maupun dosen dari perguruan tinggi di Indonesia.

Prof Liliasari MSi sebagai narasumber dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung menyampaikan tentang Rekonstruksi Manusia Indonesia Muda. Pendidikan karakter merupakan upaya rekontruksi manusia Indonesia muda yang mengalami dekadensi moral, ungkap Prof Lilisari.

Sedangkan Prof Mungin Eddy Wibowo mengatakan, revolusi mental harus dimulai dari diri sendiri dan hal tersebut dapat dilatih melalui penerapan nilai-nilai yang terinternalisasi dalam pendidikan IPA.

Narasumber lain, Prof Dr rer nat Sajidan MSi (UNS) membahas tentang konten pendidikan IPA dalam upaya revolusi mental.

Sehari sebelumnya, seminar yang dilaksanakan sebagai salah satu rangkaian perayaan Dies Natalis ke 50 Unnes itu didahului dengan pertemuan Perkumpulan Pendidik IPA se-Indonesia (PPII) di tempat yang sama berdiskusi dan menyatukan persepsi dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA di Indonesia.
