Ada empat isu utama tentang guru yaitu kualitas dan kuantitas, kualifikasi dan kompetensi, distribusi, dan kesejahteraan.

Kompetensi kepribadian guru di Indonesia masih perlu ditingkatkan. Guru ideal adalah guru yang memiliki karakter pembelajar. Guru pembelajar harus mengembangkan dirinya dimana pun dan kapan pun. Selain itu, pengembangan yang dilakukan bukan karena sertifikasi, karir, atau kepala sekolah, namun karena telah menjadi bagian inheren konsep dirinya.

Dr E Nurzaman AM MSi MM Sekretaris Direktorat Jendral Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Ditjen GTK Kemdikbud) Indonesia menyampaikan itu saat menjadi nara sumber pada Sarasehan dan Seminar Nasional, Sabtu (26/11) di Hotel Pandanaran.

Kegiatan yang diselenggarakan Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Semarang (FIP UNNES) mengusung tema Menegaskan Jati diri Guru Indonesia, diikuti ratusan guru, dosen, dan pemerhati pendidikan.

Nurzaman menjelaskan, namun pada kenyataannya, tidak semua guru memiliki karakter pembelajar. Hasil ujian kompetensi guru (UKG) nasional 2015 menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 305 (59%) Kabupaten/Kota luar Jawa di bawah standar kompetensi minimal.

Maka, untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru, program pengembangan keprofesian berkelanjutan (PKB) diselenggarakan melalui pemberdayaan kelompok kerja guru (KKG), musyawarah guru mata pelajaran (MGMP), dan program peningkatan kompetensi guru pembelajar.

Sebab, kompetensi kepribadian sangat menunjang profesionalitas guru sehingga kedepannya hanya ada dua pilihan yakni menjadi guru profesional atau tidak sama sekali, tegas Nurzaman.

Nara sumber kedua, Prof Dr Sunaryo Kartadinata MPd dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung menyampaikan pentingnya mutu guru sebagai ujung tombak pendidikan nasional. Guru yang ideal adalah mereka yang ber-jati diri dan ber-misi, tidak hanya sekadar menggugurkan kewajiban profesinya.

Menurut Sunaryo, guru selain melakukan transfer of knowledge juga memiliki misi merubah perubahan perilaku peserta didik secara sistematis dan profesional.

Misi tersebut menjadi sedemikian fundamental karena hari ini dan kedepannya, para guru akan mendidik siswa-siswa yang dikarakteristiki oleh generasi Z, yaitu generasi yang telah akrab dengan gadget sejak kecil sehingga secara tidak langsung mempengaruhi kepribadiannya.

Generasi Z, melalui gadgetnya, dapat dengan mudah mengakses berbagai informasi dari penjuru dunia. Keberlimpahan informasi di dunia maya serta keakraban siswa dengan gadget, perlu direspon guru dengan merubah kecakapan-kecakapan yang harus dimiliki siswa. Salah satunya adalah kecakapan ways of thinking.

Kecakapan tersebut lebih menekankan siswa untuk berfikir kritis dan kreatif supaya tepat dalam menggunakan berbagai informasi yang tersedia. Pada titik tersebut, fungsi guru sangat dibutuhkan.

Hal itu juga bentuk respon Sunarya terhadap pendapat bahwa konten internet akan melemahkan peran guru dalam proses pembelajaran siswa.

Untuk merespon tantangan dunia pendidikan abad XXI, menurut Sunarya, dibutuhkan guru-guru yang betah tinggal di sekolah untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran siswa. Sesuatu tantangan tersendiri bagi guru-guru yang selama ini bekerja sebatas menggugurkan kewajiban profesinya.

Nara sumber ketiga, Dr Anwar Sutoyo MPd dari jurusan Bimbingan dan Konseling FIP UNNES menyampaikan, tugas guru tidak hanya berdimensi profesional namun juga spiritual. Ada muatan-muatan ibadah dalam setiap tugas guru.

Menurut Anwar, sebaik-baiknya manusia adalah yang bermanfaat bagi sesama. Lebih jauh, bilamana seorang guru membagikan ilmu yang bermanfaat pada murid-muridnya, dan pada gilirannya, murid-murid tersebut membagikan apa yang mereka peroleh dari gurunya pada orang lain dan seterusnya. Maka rantai manfaat dari ilmu tersebut akan semakin meluas serta berlipat ganda.

Anwar menjelaskan, pekerjaan guru bernilai ibadah itu seyogyanya selalu didasarkan pada niat mencari ridho-NYA, bertindak dan berkata yang baik, tidak pamer, tidak mengungkit-ungkit, serta tidak menyakiti.

Sebelumnya, Ketua panitia Dr Edy Purwanto MSi saat melaporkan kegiatan menggaris bawahi kompetensi kepribadian pendidik adalah aspek penting selain kompetensi profesional.

Selanjutnya, mewakili Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Mungin Eddy Wibowo MPd Kons saat membuka kegiatan mengingatkan kepada peserta bahwa pentingya peran guru dalam membentuk adab siswa. Dalam perspektif sejarah, sulit untuk tidak mengakui peran guru dalam mengantarkan peradaban umat manusia dari peradaban pra-modern menuju peradaban modern seperti sekarang ini. (Ahfa FIP)
