Profesor Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Unnes bertemu untuk menajamkan konsep konservasi budaya, Selasa (11/12) di Dekanat fakultas tersebut. Dalam pertemuan yang dikemas sebagai diskusi tersebut, masing-masing profesor menyampaikan pandangan sesuai bidang kepakaran amsing-masing.

Mereka antara lain, Prof. Tjetjep Rohendi, Prof. Mursid Saleh, Prof. Astini Suudi, Prof. Agus Nuryatin, Prof. Fathur Rokhman, Prof. Muhammad Jazuli, Prof. Totok Sumaryanto, Prof. Dwi Rukmini, dan Prof. Rustono. Ratusan dosen, karyawan, dan fungsionaris lembaga kemahasiswaan hadir dalam acara tersebut.

Prof. Tjetjep menyodorkan struktur kebudayaan sebagai strategi memahami usaha konservasi budaya sebagai kerja kelembagaan. Menurutnya, konservasi budaya harus dilandasi nilai-nilai, pengetahuan, dan keyakinan sebagai aras tertinggi. Turunan dari nilai-nilai tersebut adalah perilaku dan hasil perilaku.

Struktur kebudayaan menunjukan bahwa nilai menempati hierarki tertinggi. Di bawahnya adalah kebutuhan-kebutuhan dasar hidup manusia. Sumber daya lingkungan alam atau fisik jadi modal upaya konservasi. Baik kebutuhan maupun sumber daya digerakan oleh pranata sosial yang diharapakan menghasilkan perilaku dan hasil perilaku.

Berkaitan denga itu, profesor Antropologi Budaya yang juga  Kaprodi S2 dan S3 Pendidikan Seni itu menyodorkan beberapa pertanyaan. “Nilai-nilai, pengetahuan, dan keyakinan apa yang perlu dikonservasi. Etika, logika, dan estetika akademik atau tradisi?” katanya. Untuk menginventarisasi hal itu, menurutnya, diperlukan penelitian mendalam.

Hak dan Kewajiban

Semantara itu, Prof Astini Suudi menyodorkan “hak dan kewajiban” sebagai dasar untuk memahami konservasi. Selain itu, menurut Profesor kelahiran Madiun ini, eskpresi kebudayaan muncul secara berlapis. Bagian terluar dari lapisan tersebut adalah sumbol, kemudian secara berturut-turut adalah pemuka (heroes), ritual, dan kemudian value.

Value adalah bagian terdalam yang mencakup nilai baik-buruk, benar-salah, wajar-tak wajar. Berbeda dengan simbol, nilai ini sering dihayati secara tidak sadar, tapi dipegang teguh, dan hanya bisa diamati dari cara orang bertindak dalam berbagai situasi,” katanya.

Di sesi terpisah, Prof. Fathur Rokhman mengungkapkan, sudah sejak lama universitas berencana membangun Kampung Budaya sebagai inkubator kegiatan budaya di Universitas Konservasi. Ia mengakui konsep konservasi budaya belum ideal dan perlu terus dikembangkan.

“Termasuk soal pilihan budaya-budaya apa yang akan diprioritaskan untuk dikonservasi,” katanya.

Dekan Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Prof. Agus Nuryatin mengungkapkan, diskusi adalah aspirasi warga FBS Unnes yang memiliki perhatian terhadap kegiatan konservasi budaya. Ia berharap, hasil diskusi bisa menjadi semacam blue print yang memandu fakultas menjalankan program konservasi budaya.

    Universitas Negeri Semarang telah menetapkan diri sebagai Universitas Konservasi. Hal ini membawa konsekuensi perlunya melakukan konservasi, termasuk konservasi budaya. Konservasi budaya mencakup pula pelestarian nilai-nilai budaya masa lalu yang masih relevan untuk digunakan pada masa sekarang. Nilai-nilai budaya itu, sebagian di antaranya terdapat pada naskah atau manuskrip. Karena itu, dalam melaksanakan konservasi budaya, civitas akademika Unnes perlu mengkaji dan menelaah nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung di dalam naskah atau manuskrip. Untuk itu, FBS Unnes perlu mengembangkan kajian manuskrip dengan pendekatan filologis. Matur nuwun.
