Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Mendikbud) M Nuh menilai Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) yang tahun ini berusia 49 tahun memiliki peran spesifik dalam mengupayakan transformasi sosial. Sebagai perguruan tinggi yang core-nya menghasilkan guru, Unnes diharapkan dapat menghasilkan lulusan yang bisa mengantisipasi kondisi sosial pada masa depan.

“Bagi Unnes, tugas terbesarnya menghasilkan guru hebat pada masa depan. Mahasiswa yang dididik Unnes tahun 2010-an ini akan mengajar anak-anak pada tahun 2020-an. Kalau ilmu yang diajarkan hari ini kok diajarkan saat mengajar besok, bisa jadi sudah expired. Maka, guru-guru lulusan Unnes harus berpikir antisipatif,” kata M Nuh saat ditemui unnes.ac.id di sela-sela acara Forum Rektor Indonesia (FRI) di Surakarta, Kamis (30/1).

Mendikbud mengemukakan, guru dengan kemampuan berpikir antisipatif hanya dapat lahir dari proses pendidikan yang membiasakan tradisi berpikir terbuka. Kebiasaan-kebiasaan selama menempuh pendidikan sangat memengaruhi kualitas guru. Karena itu, peran LPTK dalam upaya transformasi sosial sangat besar.

“Di antara empat kompetensi guru, kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional selama ini sudah kuat. Tugas kita adalah mendorong calon guru juga memiliki komptensi sosial dan kepribadian yang kuat pula,” lanjutnya.

Agar dapat menghasilkan guru demikian, Mendikbud mengharuskan Unnes memberikan banyak kelebihan kepada mahasiswanya. “Jika pada masa depan guru memerlukan 10 hal, maka Unnes harus memberikan 15. Sebab, dalam proses transfer pengetahuan dimungkinkan ada hal yang tidak tersampaikan,” lanjutnya.

Mendikbud menilai, upaya mewujudkan masyarakat yang berkadilan sosial pada masa depan harus dimulai dari bidang pendidikan. Sebab, menurutnya, upaya mewujdukan masyarakat yang berkeadilan dimulai dari mindset. Adapun pihak yang berperan membangun pola pikir adalah guru, lulusan lembaga pendidikan tenaga kependidikan (LPTK).

“Keadilan itu wujudnya mutually respect, saling menghormati, saling menyayangi. Semua sikap itu, landasannya satu, yaitu kasih sayang,” katanya.

Sekadar catatan, Unnes akan genap berusia 49 tahun pada Maret 2014. Rangkaian Dies Natalis Unnes telah dibuka, Rabu (29/1). Rektor Unnes Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum menyatakan tema yang diusung pada hari jadi ke-49 ini “Konservasi, Harmoni!”.

“Konservasi artinya mengakselerasi capaian sebagai Universitas Konservasi. Adapun harmoni berarti, kami ingin menjaga keharmonisan, hubungan baik, dengan alam dan masyarakat,” tandasnya.

    Sangat-sangat setuju Pak Menteri……..Tantangan yang harus kita pikirkan dan tindaklanjuti bersama: bagaimana setiap perkuliahan dirancang, dilaksanakan, dievaluasi, dan ditindaklanjuti? yaitu perkuliahan yang memperkuat kompetensi kepribadian dan sosial (karakter) mahasiswa calon guru. Mari kita implementasikan manajemen mutu perkuliahan dengan tepat dan utuh.
