Pemberangkatan Praktik Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL) merupakan sebuah rangkaian yang berjalan secara periodik dari waktu ke waktu. Meski demikian, mahasiswa jangan terjebak pada sebuah seremonial, apalagi sekadar mengejar simbol belaka.

Pembantu Rektor Bidang Akademik (PR I) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Agus Wahyudin mengemukakan hal itu saat melepas 155 mahasiswa PPL di gedung B6 Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) di kampus Sekaran, Senin (21/2).

“Kegiatan  itu semakin kuat,  kukuh, berkualitas, menuju pada status, manajemen, substansi, arah, bahkan visi  program  apabila dilakukan dengan pengelolaan yang terus diperbaiki , mulai dari perencaan, pelaksanaan, substansi, kiprah mahasiswa di sekolah mitra, hingga evaluasi,” kata Agus Wahyudin.

Jika manajemen pengelolaan itu berjalan, lanjut dia, niscaya hasilnya menunjukkan kualitas prima karena program kegiatan itu telah berjalan dari waktu ke waktu sedemikian kukuh.

Dia mengatakan, sangat mungkin  kita terlena  terhadap kemapanan suatu program atau  kegiatan yang dianggap sudah kuat, kemudian terjebak pada aktivitas seremonial sehingga seakan-akan sekadar menjadi rangkaian upacara yang mesti dilakasanakan. “Apabila telah  dilaksanakan, rasanya sudah mencapai derajat formal sebuah seremoni telah dijalankan. Ini tak boleh terjadi,” katanya.

Seremonial itu, menurutnya, tidak hanya pada PPL selama satu bulan, tetapi bisa juga di bangku perkuliahan, yakni bila sudah mencapai 16 kali  pertemuan  namun berjalan seperti 10 sampai 15  tahun yang lalu tanpa ada manajemen yang diperbaiki. “Maka, seremonial perkuliahan itu seakan-akan telah memenuhi syariahnya kemudian setelah yudisium keluar nilai C, D, atau A dianggap selesai. Kemudian lahirlah seseorang dari mekanisme tersebut dianggap sah formal sebagai sarjana pendidikan, sarjana hukum, sarjana teknik, sarjana ekonomi, dan lainnya. Jika itu yang terjadi, gelar yang Saudara sandang itu hanyalah simbol belaka,” kata PR I Unnes ini.

lebih lanjut dikemukakan, para kritikus pendidikan mengatakan, dunia pendidikan kita terjerumus di dalam seremoni formalitas untuk melahirkan sertifikat dan pengakuan tapi jauh dari substansi yang berkualitas karena tidak dikontrol dengan  sungguh-sungguh. “Aspek  itulah yang menyebabkan Indonesia tertinggal dengan negara lain yang usianya lebih muda dengan Indonesia namun dia sudah menguasai pasar,” katanya.

PR I mengajak mahasiswa PPL untuk bermimpi menjadi guru yang profesional. “Kesempatan emas pada hari ini dengan memantapkan hati, pikiran, sikap, perilaku, cara bicara, etika, dan berbusana. Tempatkanlah diri Saudara di sekolah praktikan sebagai guru yang bermartabat, memiliki harga diri,  dan tidak sekadar mengejar simbol tapi melupakan substansi. Itu semua untuk  turut membangun negeri ini dan memutus mata rantai kerusakan yang terjadi di sana-sini serta melahirkan nilai kebangkitan bagi kehidupan bangsa ini,” ajak Agus Wahyudin.

    MAJU TERUS UNNES KONSERVASI.
    setuju dengan bapak PR1, unnes harus memberikan nilai mahasiswa sesuai dg kamampuannya.nilai bagi kami juga penting, tapi memperluas jaringan/teman juga pentig bagi saya.:)

    Luar biasa Sambutanya PR 1, Memberikan arah inspirasi tentang kejelasan pendidikan. Indonesi memang butuh kontribusi nyata bukan sekedar simbol, namun simbol juga penting tpi yg terpnting sejauh mana kontribusi kita berikan utk agama dan bngsa ini.
