Mahasiswa baru Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) belajar mengenai karakteristik dan sistem keuangan Bank Indonesia (BI) dalam kuliah umum di Auditorium Unnes Kampus Sekaran Gunungpati, Selasa (27/9). Mereka mendapatkan pembekalan dasar mengenai seluk beluk bank sentral di Indonesia itu.

Sebagai pemateri dalam kuliah umum tersebut, Direktorat Keuangan Intern BI Hilzahra Pheni MA menyampaikan, di bawah pimpinan Gubernur, BI memiliki visi misi mencapai dan memelihara kestabilan nilai rupiah melalui kestabilan moneter dan pengembangan stabilitas sistem keuangan untuk pembangunan nasional. Selain itu, BI juga menjadi lembaga bank sentral yang dapat dipercaya secara nasional maupun internasional melalui penguatan nilai-nilai strategis.

’’Sehingga, perlu ditekankan disini bahwa BI bukan BUMN, melainkan lembaga negara seperti halnya BPK atau MA yang tidak mencari untung, tapi hanya melaksanakan tugas dan wewenangnya, bebas dari campur tangan pemerintah atau pihak lain,’’ ungkapnya di hadapan 898 mahasiswa baru FE Unnes tahun akademik 2011/2012.

Berbeda

Mengenai karakteristik bank sentral tersebut dibandingkan institusi,  Hilzahra menjelaskan, dalam laporan keuangan, laporan BI berbeda dari lainnya.

Menurut dia, ada keunikan di beberapa hal, seperti entitas legal, entitas ekonomi, aktivitas, pengguna informasi, dan entitas sejenis.

Dekan FE Unnes S Martono mengatakan, kuliah umum itu untuk membekali para mahasiswa dengan memberikan pemahaman akuntansi BI dan operasi moneter.

Selain itu memberikan gambaran umum tentang BI dan transaksi utama di sana.

’’Dengan materi yang disampaikan dari narasumber, harapannya mahasiswa dapat mengambil isi materi dan menjadi bekal selama menempuh pendidikan di kampus FE Unnes,’’ katanya.

Sementara itu, Rektor Unnes Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo ketika membuka kuliah umum itu mengatakan, kegiatan tersebut bagi universitas sangat bermanfaat. Pasalnya, dapat mempererat kerja sama antara Unnes dan BI.

’’Dengan kerja sama ini ada tiga hal yang terekam, utamanya keuntungan yang dipetik oleh FE ketika membutuhkan data-data statistik ekonomi, maka BI dapat membantu. Begitu juga saat BI mau membagi ilmu kepada mahasiswa FE seperti sekarang ini,’’ terangnya.
