Selama ini pasar modal masih dipandang sebelah mata. Selain itu, juga dipandang sebagai kegiatan orang kaya yang mempunyai banyak uang. Padahal, hanya dengan modal awal Rp100 ribu bisa menjalankan di pasar modal.

Dekan Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Negeri Semarang (FE Unnes) Dr Wahyono MM menyampaikan itu saat membuka Unnes Capital Market Competition (UCMC) yang diselenggarakan Unnes Stock Exchange Study Forum (Unssaf), Jumat (9/10) di Gedung Serba Guna Fakultas Ilmu Kelahragaan (FIK).

Untuk itu, Edukasi pasar modal perlu diberikan kepada semua mahasiswa dan masyarakat luas sehingga tidak tabu tentang pasar modal.

Kampus adalah agen pembaruan dan juga perubahan, dengan melakukan implementasi seperti ini diharapkan mahasiswa memperoleh pengetahuan dan tidak tabu lagi tentang pasar modal, kata Dr Wahyono.

Dr Wahyono berharap, tahun ini semoga semua mahasiswa baru Unnes bisa berpartisipasi berlatih di pasar modal.

Ketua panitia Galang Hutriadi melaporkan, kegiatan seperti ini diselenggarakan tiap tahun, ini kali ke empat tingkat nasional dengan tema “Challenge Your Self to Be Smart Investor” diikuti 165 peserta dari 39 universitas dari lima pulau di Indonesia diantaranya pulau Jawa, Kalimantan, Sumatara, Bali, dan Sulawesi.

hari ini (Jumat 9/10) merupakan 20 finalis yang sudah terseleksi sebelumnya melakukan tes Gala Show nantinya akan dipilih 8 peserta terbaik. Ke 8 peserta ini besok (Sabtu 10/10) tes lagi Show Case diambil 3 terbaik, kemudia ketiaga itu di tes lagi untuk menentukan juara 1, 2, dan 3.

Galang menambahkan, ke 20 peserta itu yakni dari Universitas MH Thamrin Jakarta, Universitas Diponegoro (Undip), Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, Universitas Wahid Hasyim Semarang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Prasetya Mulya Business School, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, dan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes).
