Sejumlah tokoh senior menyampaikan gagasan dan penguatan agar Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) terus maju  menjadi salah satu universitas terbaik di Indonesia. Mereka berharap, berbagai prestasi yang sudah diraih UNNES dijadikan modal meningkatkan lembaga menjadi universitas bereputasi internasional.

Beberapa tokoh yang hadir adalah mantan rektor Prof Dr Rasdi Ekosiswoyo dan Prof Dr Ari Tri Soegito. Dua tokoh senior lain yang hadir adalah Prof Mursid Saleh dan Prof Edi Astini, keduanya adalah profesor emeretis dari Jurusan Bahasa Inggris dan Jurusan Bahasa Asing. Selain itu, rapat koodinasi juga diikuti ketua dan anggota senat.

Prof Rasdi Ekosiswoyo mengapresiasi kualitas sumber daya manusia (SDM) dosen UNNES yang semakin unggul. Hal itu ditandai dengan semakin meningkatnya jumlah dosen berkualifikasi doktor.

Menurutnya, dosen harus memiliki keunggulan keilmuan. Hal itu sangat penting karena berimplikasi langsung terhadap kualitas pembelajaran.

Sejak menjadi Rektor, Prof Rasdi mendorong setiap dosen mengembangkan keilmuan dengan melanjutkan pendidikan. Upaya demikian terus dilakukan hingga saat ini

Kepemimpinan Transformatif

Sementara itu, Prof Dr AT Soegito berharap pimpinan Unnes menjadi pemimin transformatif. Salah satu sifat kepemimpinan transformasi adalah adanya pembaruan. Selain itu, kepemimpinan transformatif mengutamakan prestasi.

Pria yang akrab disapa Prof AT ini mengaku senang melihat perkembangan UNNES selama ini. Sebagai salah satu tokoh yang turut mengubah IKIP Semarang menjadi universitas, ia melihat perkembangan ini UNNES saat ini sangat menggembirakan hatinya.

Akreditasi A sebagai Modal

Rektor Prof Fathur Rokhman MHum mengatakan, pihaknya menargetkan pada 2018 minimal 25 persen dosen UNNES berkualifikasi doktor. Selain itu, ia akan menjadikan akreditasi A yang telah diraih UNNES sebagai awal mengembangkan lembaga menjadi lebih hebat.

Oleh karena itu, ia berharap setiap civitas academica terus merapatkan barisan melaksanakan tugas masing-masing.

Sebagai catatan, dalam data.unnes.ac.id tercatat sebanyak 242 dosen telah berkualifikasi doktor. Sementara itu, puluhan dosen lainnya kini sedang menyelesaikan tugas belajar menempuh pendidikan doktor, baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri.

    Kemarin pertanyaan sy blm dijawab. UTC singkatan apa? Bhs. Inggris? Kalau ya, mengapa b. Inggris? Tdk sesuai dg visi KONSERVASI. Kita harus go international, tp tdk perlu ke innggris2an.
    Sekedar mengingatkan, semoga gedung2 lain tdk bernama asing.

      Terima kasih Prof Astini yang sangat cantik dan baik hati. Salah satu Profesor terbaik yang dimiliki UNNES. Terkait dengan penamaan gedung UTC nama tersebut adalah singkatan dari UNNES TRAINING CENTER. Mengapa harus bahasa Inggris? Karena sebagian besar gedung tersebut dibiayai dengan dana Islamic Development Bank (IDB) dan nama tersebut sudah disepakati di proposal yang diajukan. Kemudian untuk mempermudah diingat masyarakat nama fasilitas tersebut disingkat menjadi UTC. Apabila kemudian dikehendaki untuk diubah namanya, kita perlu mengajukan usulan tersebut ke IDB untuk mendapat persetujuan. Mohon maaf atas ketidaknyamanan. Semoga ke depan dapat dinamai dengan Pusat Pelatihan UNNES atau PPU. Atau nama lain lain yang lebih sesuai dengan wawasan konservasi. Salam hormat, Humas UNNES
