Akademisi di kampus didorong untuk membantu pemerintah dalam memecahkan berbagai masalah perekonomian. Melalui berbagai upaya, peran dosen dan mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi dan bisnis dinanti untuk mengatasi ketimpangan sosial di tengah masyarakat.

Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) Fathur Rokhman ketika membuka Sidang Pleno Ke-13 Asosiasi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Indonesia (AFEBI), di Patra Convention Hotel Semarang, Kamis (20/7), mengatakan, tantangan akademisi berbagai prodi di fakultas tersebut sekarang ini tidaklah mudah. Menurut Fathur, kampus mesti hadir di tengah masyarakat dengan menghasilkan berbagai temuan yang solutif untuk mengatasi permasalahan.

Upaya untuk mengatasi ketimpangan di desa, menurut Fathur, kampus bisa mengambil peran dengan mendampingi dan memberdayakan potensi yang dimiliki. “Dengan demikian, kehadiran kampus benar-benar dirasakan oleh masyarakat luas,” ujarnya.

Hadir dalam kesempatan itu, antara lain, Direktur Fasilitasi Keuangan dan Aset Desa Kementerian Dalam Negeri Lukmanul Hakim, Staf Ahli Menteri Pengembangan Ekonomi Lokal, Kementerian Desa, Pembangunan Daerah Tertinggal dan Transmigrasi Ratna Dewi Andriarti, Senior Economist World Bank Mr Derek Hung Chiat, dan Sekda Provinsi Jateng Sri Puryono, dan Dekan FE UNNES Wahyono.

Dalam laporannya, Wahyono yang juga Ketua Penyelenggara AFEBI tahun ini menyatakan kegiatan yang berlangsung 19-21 Juli ini diikuti sedikitnya 280 peserta dan 63 perguruan tinggi se-Indonesia. Wahyono berharap kegiatan menjadi ajang untuk bertukar pikiran dan menguatkan keilmuan prodi-prodi yang tergabung dalam fakultas tersebut.

Selain itu, pertemuan tahun ini membahas berbagai isu-isu aktual yang mengemuka dalam disiplin ilmu yang sama. Siding pleno dibagi dalam sejumlah komisi, antara lain pendidikan dan pengajaran, penelitian dan pengabdian masyarakat, dan kerja sama dan hubungan luar negeri. Selain itu, diselenggarakan pula pelatihan Aplikasi Stata untuk Analisis Spatial Econometrics.

Dekan FEB Universitas Brawijaya, Candra Fajri Ananda, mengatakan, dalam konteks keilmuan AFEBI telah menghasilkan jurnal ilmiah. Ke depan, ia berharap AFEBI lebih aktif memberi solusi kepada pemerintah terkait berbagai permasalahan dalam bidang ekonomi. “Tidak sekadar mengkritisi, tetapi membantu pemerintah dalam upaya pembangunan ekonomi,” ujarnya.
