Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Jawa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) tengah mematangkan draf Uji Kompetensi Bahasa Jawa (UKBJ) bersama Prodi Sastra Jawa Universitas Indonesia (UI). Pertemuan awal kedua pihak dalam bentuk diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD) untuk membahas UKBJ dilakukan di kampus UI, Depok, Rabu, 17 Mei 2017.

Diskusi membahas sejumlah hal yang kemudian menjadi poin penting dalam merealisasikan UKBJ. Ketua Prodi Sastra Jawa UI, Dwi Puspitorini, mengatakan tahun ini prodinya memadatkan perkuliahan dari enam semester menjadi empat semester. “Selama empat semester diharapkan sudah terukur kemahiran berbahasa dalam berbagai aspek pada tingkat tertentu.  Jika bahasa Inggris punya TOEFL, maka sudah waktunya bahasa Jawa juga memiliki model tes yang sepadan,” kata dia.

Dari Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Jawa UNNES, hadir antara lain Ermi Dyah Kurnia (Ketua Prodi Sastra Jawa), Ucik Fuadhiyah (sekretaris jurusan), Hardyanto, Yusro Edy Nugroho, Eka Yuli Astuti, Widodo, Sungging Widagdo, dan Dhoni Zustiyantoro. Mereka diterima sejumlah dosen Sastra Jawa UI, antara lain Darmoko, Karsono H Saputra, dan Widyasmara Murti.

UKBJ kelak mencakup berbagai aspek kemampuan berbahasa, meliputi membaca, menyimak, berbicara, dan menulis. Selain itu, terdapat enam tingkatan tes, mulai dari A1 hingga C2. Masing-masing tes mensyaratkan peserta mesti menempuh pembelajaran bahasa Jawa dengan jam minimal yang telah ditentukan. Ragam bahasa yang digunakan dimulai dari tataran ngoko hingga krama.

Menurut Yusro Edy Nugroho, diskusi menyepakati sejumlah hal penting terkait draf awal pembuatan UKBJ. Upaya ini, di sisi lain, merupakan upaya menjalin kerja sama dengan UI dalam bidang keilmuan dan pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Ia mengatakan, ke depan, terbuka pula bagi lembaga lain yang bakalikut terlibat dalam pembuatan UKBJ ini. “Diskusi akan diwujudkan dalam langkah-langkah yang sudah terprogram, meliputi pembuatan kisi-kisi dan soal UKBJ,” kata Yusro.
