Gugus pengembang Konservasi Fakultas Ekonomi (FE) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) mengadakan workshop pengelolaan sampah, Minggu (17/9) di FE.

Kegiatan ini dihadiri mahasiswa semester satu lintas jurusan di lingkungan FE UNNES dan tujuh mahasiswa dari komunitas putra putri kampus dan kader penggerak konservasi.

Acara ini dihadirkan pembicara Sri Ismiyati seorang praktisi pengelolaan sampah. Pada acara tersebut, pembicara mengungkapkan pentingnya konsep pengelolaan sampah secara kreatif dan berkesinambungan.

Ia juga memaparkan, model pengelolaan sampah dengan konsep reduce, re use, recycle.

Ketua panitia penyelenggara sekaligus ketua gugus pengembang konservasi Dr Amin Pujiati MSi menyatakan, pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai konservasi di kalangan mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu dipilihlah mahasiswa semester satu serta komunitas putra putri kampus dan kader penggerak konservasi.

Harapannya, mahasiswa dan komunitas kader konservasi akan semakin menginternalisasi nilai luhur dan budaya konservasi dalam aktivitas sehari-hari. Adapun tujuan kedua adalah, perlunya gerakan masif dan kampanye pemanfaatan sampah. Mengingat permasalahan sampah saat ini dirasakan masih memerlukan penanganan lebih lanjut.

Beberapa mahasiswa yang mengikuti kegiatan workhsop ini mengaku bahwa mereka benar-benar mendapatkan ilmu baru dan semakin termotivasi untuk dapat berperan lebih dalam pengelolaan sampah agar dapat dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut. Ke depan mereka juga berharap agar kegiatan serupa makin sering digalakan dengan tema lain terkait konservasi serta mampu melibatkan lebih banyak mahasiswa.
