Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Mendikbud) Prof Dr Mohammad Nuh DEA melakukan dialoh bersama 3.600 mahasiswa Bidikmisi Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) beserta orang tuanya di kampus Sekaran, Sabtu (30/3).

Hadir pula Gubernur Jawa Tengah Bibit Waluyo dan Rektor Unnes Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo. Susasana haru mewarnai dialog sehingga ketiga pimpinan ini tampak menyeka mata mereka di depan para mahasiswa.

Pasalnya, salah satu orang tua mahasiswa, Moy Helpmy (42) asal Purwokerto, Jawa Tengah, bahkan sampai menangis saat menyampaikan “unek-uneknya” kepada Mendikbud, didampingi sang anak Saefully Sofiah yang menerima Bidikmisi.

“Saya titipkan anak saya, Pak Rektor, Pak Menteri, Pak Gubernur. Saya ini memiliki penyakit jantung, tidak tahu anak saya dengan siapa kalau tiba-tiba saya meninggal,” katanya sambil terisak.

Perempuan itu menceritakan bahwa suaminya pernah mengalami kecelakaan lalu lintas sehingga mengalami kecacatan dan saat ini hanya dirinya yang diandalkan untuk menopang beban hidup keluarga dengan berjualan nasi goreng.

Menanggapi perempuan itu, Mendikbud tampak sangat terharu dan sempat terdiam sejenak. Suasana sarasehan itu sesaat hening, bahkan beberapa di antaranya tampak tak kuasa menahan haru dan mentihkan air mata.

Mendikbud kemudian menyemangati perempuan itu dan sang anak yang berkuliah di FMIPA Unnes untuk terus berusaha meraih cita-cita tanpa memikirkan biaya karena sudah ditanggung Bidikmisi.

M Nuh mengingatkan kepada seluruh mahasiswa untuk tetap semangat dan terus belajar agar bisa meraih apa yang dicita-citakan dan tidak melupakan kewajiban untuk berbakti kepada orang tua yang telah bersusah payah. “Ada yang baru dalam Bidikmisi. Tahun depan akan dialokasikan hingga program profesi,” katanya.

Ia mencontohkan mahasiswa lulusan fakultas pendidikan yang tentunya membutuhkan melanjutkan pendidikan program profesi sehingga akan difasilitasi dengan Bidikmisi, terutama yang dari keluarga tidak mampu.

“Lulusan fakultas pendidikan yang menjadi calon guru, kata dia, tidak bisa mengajar sebelum mengikuti sertifikasi dan program profesi guru. Program profesi seperti inilah yang nantinya juga dialokasikan beasiswa Bidikmisi,” katanya.

Menurut dia, beasiswa ini termasuk program afirmatif yang tertuang dalam Undang-Undang Pendidikan Tinggi sehingga nantinya tidak lagi tergantung menteri atau siapa pun karena sudah menjadi amanat perundangan.

“Tahun ini, dialokasikan sebanyak 50 ribu beasiswa Bidik Misi untuk angkatan baru. Mudah-mudahan dengan anggaran pendapatan dan belanja negara (APBN) perubahan, alokasinya bisa ditambah,” katanya.

Sebelumnya Mendikbud meresmikan pembangunan gedung Fakultas Hukum, Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) dan Lab School, Gedung Serba Guna, dan gedung PGSD Unnes. Peresmian itu ditandai dengan penandatanganan prasasti.

Rektor Unnes Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo dalam membacakan laporan tahunan 2012 mengungkapkan sejumlah capaian Unnes sepanjang 2013, antara lain jumlah mahasiswa Bidikmisi Unnes tertinggi dengan total 3.600 mahasiswa.
