Memberikan sambutan pada upacara Dies Natalis Ke-47 Unnes, Jumat (30/3) di auditorium kampus Sekaran, Gubernur Jawa Tengah Bibit Waluyo serasa menghujankan pujian demi pujian. Apresiasi itu merentang dari  kondisi fisik kampus Sekaran hingga deretan prestasi yang diraih Unnes, sebagaimana disampaikan Rektor Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo saat pembacaan laporan tahunan.

“Begitu masuk pintu gerbang  Unnes saja, sudah terasa wah…. luar biasa. Mak nyes di hati. Lebih masuk lagi, wah sangat luar biasa. Lebih masuk lagi, wah semakin luar biasa lagi. Ternyata konsep bali desa mbangun desa diadop juga oleh Unnes,” kata orang nomor satu di Jawa Tengah itu membuka pidatonya. Tentu saja lebih dari 1.500 audiens, termasuk para Anggota Senat Universitas, membalasnya dengan gemuruh tepuk tangan.

Dalam balutan suasana gergeran, Gubernur mengaku dirinya sedang berkompetisi dengan Unnes untuk mengumpulkan penghargaan. “Tapi ini kompetesi yang baik. Apalagi Unnes ini berada di Jawa Tengah, sehingga setiap tambahan penghargaan untuk Unnes berarti tambahan juga untuk Jawa Tengah.”

Kepada segenap civitas akademika Unnes, tak lupa Bibit berpesan agar mereka menjadi sosok yang tidak hanya pinter, tetapi juga kober, bener, dan pener. “Pinter thok ora pener, ora bener, dan ora kober, ora kanggo gawe, tidak ada artinya. Kalau cuma kober thok tidak akan bisa berprestasi, karena tidak pintar. Pinter thok tapi tidak kober, juga tidak ada gunanya. Rakyat kita membutuhkan cendikiawan yang kober dan peduli kepada rakyat. Dengan demikian Unnes ini nanti menjadi  bibit unggul  didalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia,” terang Gubernur.

Sebelumnya, Direktur Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Ditjen Dikti Kemdikbud Prof Supriadi Rustad mengatakan, kepeloporan Unnes menerbitkan 137 jurnal secara online merupakan rekor terbanyak di antara semua perguruan tinggi di Indonesia.

“Dengan 137 jurnal itu, Unnes ingin menggeser budaya lisan ke budaya tulis. Kita pasti masih ingat bagaimana Mpu Sedah, Mpu Panuluh, Mpu Tantular, dan Mpu Prapanca. Kalau (mereka) tidak menulis, apa jadinya bangsa ini. Mungkin bangsa ini bangsa yang tidak akan kenal dirinya sendiri,” kata  mantan pembantu rektor I Unnes ini.

Seribu tahun setelah Mpu Prapanca, lanjut Prof Supriadi, generasi muda  Indonesia khususnya para mahasiswa ditantang untuk mengungkapkan bakat dan minatnya dalam bentuk tulisan. “Ini sebuah laku yang lebih santun daripada budaya lisan, apalagi budaya lisan yang ada di jalan-jalan,” katanya.

Rektor Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo dalam membacakan laporan tahunan 2011 mengungkapkan sejumlah capaian Unnes sepanjang 2011. “Terjadi peningkatan kuota mahasiswa baru sebanyak  43 %, pembebasan biaya pendidikan bagi 20, 23% mahasiswa baru, dan diterapkannya sertifikasi ISO9001:2008 dan IWA2,” katanya.

Catatan lainnya, Unnes menduduki tiga besar nasional dalam Pimnas, meloloskan 654 program kreativitas mahasiswa , serta meraih ASEAN Champion of Biodiversity di Filipina. Di bidang kerja sama, ada kesepahaman bersama dan kemitraan strategi dengan berbagai institusi dalam dan luar negeri.
