UNNES sebagai kampus konservasi memiliki tujuh pilar utama yang diantaranya mencakup sumber daya alam, lingkungan, dan budaya. Pengetahuan tentang lingkungan kampus tentu harus diwujudkan dengan upaya preventif dalam menghadapi tantangan ke depannya, seperti kelangkaan sumber daya alam dan risiko terjadinya bencana. Diperlukan tindakan nyata untuk turut serta mendukung kampus konservasi menuju reputasi yang sesuai dengan visi UNNES.

Hal tersebutlah yang menjadi latar belakang penyelenggaraan Seminar dan Workshop Kampus Siaga Bencana (KSB) oleh Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Korps Sukarela (KSR) PMI Unit UNNES pada Sabtu dan Minggu (9-10/9), bertempat di Ruang Borobudur Gedung Prof Retno Sriningsih Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) UNNES.

Mewakili Rektor UNNES saat membuka kegiatan, Staf Ahli Rektor bidang Kemahasiswaan Tommi Yuniawan SPd MHum mengapresiasi penyelenggaraan kegiatan ini. Ia menjelaskan, sudah menjadi tanggung jawab bersama untuk melakukan langkah preventif dan sinergis dalam upaya penanggulangan bencana.

“Lingkungan kampus merupakan salah satu area yang perlu mendapat perhatian dalam upaya meningkatkan kesadaran dan kesiapsiagaan terhadap bencana. Terkait dengan itu, UNNES sendiri telah memiliki Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) dalam pembangunan gedung, penggunaan transportasi hijau, dan penanaman pohon sebagai upaya mengurangi risiko terjadinya bencana” jelas Dosen Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni itu.

Selain membuka acara, Tommi juga membacakan puisi berjudul “Konservasi Bahasa” karya Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum. Puisi yang menegaskan pentingnya kesantunan dalam berbahasa ini, memiliki daya tarik tersendiri bagi para peserta seminar dan workshop. Hal ini ditandai dengan suara riuh tepuk tangan hadirin beberapa saat setelah pembacaan puisi.

Selain itu, pembukaan acara juga diikuti oleh penandatanganan dan deklarasi UNNES sebagai Kampus Siaga Bencana (KSB) serta penampilan tari dan grup band dari mahasiswa UNNES.

Ketua Panitia Afif Sa’roni melaporkan terdapat 208 peserta Seminar dan 107 peserta Workshop. Mereka merupakan perwakilan dari Lembaga Kemahasiswaan (LK), Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM), Badan Semi Otonom (BSO) dilingkungan UNNES, dan Delegasi KSR PMI dari berbagai perguruan tinggi serta masyarakat umum.

“KSR PMI Unit UNNES sebagai salah satu komponen UNNES berkewajiban memberikan aksi nyata terbentuknya karakter konservasi dan tanggap terhadap kebencanaan. Melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menumbuhkan perilaku konservasi sebagai bentuk adaptasi lingkungan terhadap perubahan iklim serta membuka kesadaran warga kampus akan pentingnya kesiapsiagaan bencana dilingkungan kampus” jelas Afif.

Kegiatan yang bertema “Menumbuhkan Kesadaran Kesiapsiagaan Bencana Menuju Kampus Siaga Bencana Berwawasan Konservasi” ini menghadirkan tiga pembicara. Mereka ialah Koordinator Dosen Pembina UKM Minat dan Kegemaran UNNES Drs Kusmuriyanto MSi, Kepala Bidang Penanggulangan Bencana BPBD Provinsi Jawa Tengah Purwanto SPd, dan Pengurus PMI Pusat Ketua Bidang PMR dan Sukarelawan Muhammad Muas SH sebagai pembicara.

Muas menjelaskan, dalam konteks pengurangan risiko bencana, Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi dilaksanakan untuk mendorong terciptanya kampus dan masyarakat yang aman dan tangguh terhadap bencana.

“Dengan demikian Kampus Siaga Bencana (KSB) merupakan upaya pemberdayaan dan peningkatan kapasitas perguruan tinggi dalam kesiapsiagaan dan pengurangan risiko bencana yang melibatkan seluruh komponen perguruan tinggi dalam perencanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi” jelasnya.
