Di era globalisasi ini, semua informasi mudah didapatkan karena hampir semua orang menggunakan sosial media. Data menunjukkan bahwa jumlah pengguna internet di Indonesia semakin lama semakin banyak. Sedangkan, keberadaan koperasi dipertanyakan terkait dengan menjamurnya dan makin fenomenalnya pembelian dan penjualan melalui sosial media dan toko online.

Fakultas Ekonomi UNNES menyelenggarakan Seminar Nasional pada Selasa (11/7). Kegiatan yang bertempat di Aula FE, Gedung L1 lantai 3 mengambil tema “Peran dan Tantangan Koperasi dalam Rangka Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi”. Ketua Panitia, Dr Muhammad Khafid MSi menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini diharapkan memberikan manfaat bagi para dosen selaku periset ekonomi pada umumnya dan koperasi pada khususnya dalam menginspirasi tema-tema riset.

Dr Wahyono MM, Dekan FE saat membuka acara ini mengungkapkan bahwa FE UNNES berkomitmen untuk mengembangkan perekonomian kerakyatan baik bagi koperasi maupun UMKM, salah satu wujud komitmennya adalah pendirian pusat kajian UMKM dan Koperasi. Disamping itu, FE Unnes juga berkomitmen terhadap pembinaan mahasiswa untuk berwirausaha.

Koperasi sebagai bagian sistem perekonomian di Indonesia yang sejak lama menjadi wadah untuk mengembangkan demokrasi ekonomi dalam kenyataannya mengalami tantangan yang luar biasa di masa kini ketika tidak ada kreativitas yang dikembangkan dan diinovasikan. Hal ini diungkapkan oleh Pembicara Pertama, Prof Rusdarti MSi dari Dosen Koperasi FE Unnes. Ia menyatakan bahwa kelambanan koperasi untuk merger atau amalgamasi menjadi masalah yang membuat fungsi dan jenis koperasi yang tidak efisien. Diperlukan kreativitas untuk memanfaatkan kaidah kaidah koperasi untuk meraih keunggulan kompetitif dalam perkoperasian.

Selain itu, Susilowati SE, ketua koperasi Wanita Srikandi, Purworejo mengatakan, mengungkapkan pengalamannya dari usaha mengembangkan koperasi dari yang anggota yang berjumlah sedikit sampai sekarang berjumlah 2500-an petani yang menjadi anggota. Koperasi yang bergerak di bidang usaha gula semut, VCO dan minyak kelapa ini berhasil menggandeng perusahaan di Columbia dan Jakarta untuk memasarkan 100 ton gula ton per bulan. Beliau menyatakan bahwa awal terjun di dunia koperasi karena prihatin melihat kehidupan sederhana petani sekitar hutan yang hanya sebagai pemungut kayu hutan dan sekarang berhasil diberdayakan menjadi anggota koperasi yang lebih sejahtera.

Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh lebih dari 300 peserta yang berasal dari Dinas Koperasi Batik Indonesia Prov. Jateng, Dinas Koperasi dan UMKM Kendal, Sragen, Dinas Koperasi Solo, KPRI Warga Jaya Dinas Perhubungan Jateng, Dinas Koperasi Kab. Semarang. Selain itu, peserta juga berasal dari pendidik dari beragam SMP seperti SMP 15 15, 26, 10, 28, 41 Semarang dan SMA 2 Semarang. Peserta juga berasal dari unsur perguruan tinggi seperti IKIP Veteran, Polines, UNDIP, UIN Walisongo, STEKOM, STIE, STIBIS, AKBID Husada, UNTAG, UNWAHAS., UNPAND, UPGRIS dan FE UNNES.
