Melalui focus group discussion (FGD), dosen Jurusan Teknik Jasa Produksi (TJP) Fakultas Tekni memperkenalkan batik kepada mahasiswa darmasiswa yang berasal dari berbabagi negara. FGD diadakan di laboratorium TJP, Selasa (12/8).

Menurut ketua panitia FGD Sri Endah Wahyuningsih MPd, kegiatan ini juga diikuti oleh pelaku industri batik Semarang. Mereka berharap, batik sebagai salah satu kekayaan budaya Indonesia semakin di kenal luas oleh masyarakat internasional.

“Salah satu cara yang dilakukan yaitu dengan menggali dan memaparkan asal muasal batik di berbagai daerah yang ada di Indonesia,” ujarnya.

Senada, dosen Ilmu Tekstil Fakultas Teknik Unnes Dr Rodia Syamwil berpendapat, batik merupakan salah satu warisan budaya indonesia yang sarat nilai dan kini sudah ciri khas bangsa. Sejak diresmikan oleh UNESCO sebagai “Masterpieces Of The Oral and Intangible Heritage Of Humanity”, masyarakat indonesia semakin bangga menggunakan Batik. Bahkan, katanya, saat ini Indonesia sudah menjadi trend mode yang terkenal hingga mancanegara.

Batik Indonesia, lanjut Rodia, memiliki keanekaragaman motif dan corak khas yang menjadi identitas dari tiap daerah.

“Keanekaragaman inilah yang makin memperkaya khasan budaya kita. Diamana motif dan corak khas dari tiap-tiap daerah tersebut memiliki keunikan dan nilai unsur budaya masing-masing. Sehingga jarang ditemukan adanya corak mauun motif batik yang sama antar daerah satu dengan yang lain, “ kata Rodiah lagi.

Selain Rodiah, pada acara yang dibuka oleh Pembantu Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan Supraptono MPd ini juga hadir pembicara dari Taiwan Ching Yi Wang PhD yang berbicara tentang warisan kebudayaan Taiwan.
