International Office Universitas Negeri Semarang bekerja sama dengan Heart of Borneo Rainforest Foundation mengadakan seminar “Hayati dan Konservasi” di kampus Sekaran, Senin (11/11). Kegiatan dihadiri lebih dari 35 peserta yang terdiri dari dosen dan mahasiswa.

Seminar dibuka Head of International Office, Hendi Pratama dan dilanjutkan presentasi oleh Martin Holland, Co-founder dan Director dari Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Heart of Rainforest Foundation yang berbasis penelitian di Kalimantan.

Martin di depan para peserta mengemukakan, visi yayasannya adalah terciptanya masa depan hutan hujan Kalimantan, para penduduknya dan keanekaragamannya dihargai dan dilindungi dari kerusakan atau kehancuran yang lebih buruk. “Hal ini disadari karena diperkirakan keberadaan hutan di Kalimantan menurun hingga angka 30% sejak 1950,“ katanya.

Mengingat pentingnya kesadaran pelestarian lingkungan bagi semua kalangan, terutama civitas akademika, University of Exeter Inggris bekerja sama dengan Heart of Borneo Rainforest Foundation akan mengadakan field trip selama 14 hari ke Gunung Bondang, Kalimantan Tengah. Kegiatan akan melibatkan 30 mahasiswa internasional dan 5 mahasiswa Indonesia. Kelima mahasiswa terpilih akan dibiayai penuh oleh University of Exeter untuk mengikuti proyek ini.

Mahasiswa Unnes yang berminat mengikuti seleksi proyek ini bisa langsung mengirimkan riwayat hidup ke alamat email [email protected] dengan subject Fakultas_Nama_Borneo_Project. Pengiriman paling lambat 18 November 2013.

    bagus….tapi mengapa hanya dibuka untuk mahasiswa unnes saja? padahal dosen unnes ada yg memiliki pengalaman riset di pedalaman kalimantan lho karena dia memang memiliki interest dg fenomena ekologi-budaya di kalimantan…
