Rangkaian kegiatan Dies Natalis Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) akan dibuka pada Jumat (27/1) di auditorium kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati. Acara pembukaan diperkirkan akan berlangsung semarak dengan penampilan delapan pendekar pencak silat.

Penanggung Jawab Dies Natalis ke-52 Prof Dr Tandiyo Rahayu MPd menyebutkan, delapan pendekar adalah atlet pencak silat dari berbagai fakultas. Mereka akan berkolaborasi menunjukkan keindahan seni bela diri asli Indonesia itu.

Menurut Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK) itu, pencak silat sengaja ditampilkan sebagai ikhtiar merawat dan mengangkat budaya Nusantara. Penampilan silat dalam acara itu menunjukkan komitmen UNNES sebagai universitas berwawasan konservasi untuk merawat, mengangkat, dan memetik nilai-nilai luhur local wisdom.

Selain diisi dengan pertunjukan silat, pembukaan Dies Natalis akan diisi dengan kuliah umum oleh Menteri Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemristekdikti) M Nasir.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum berharap Dies Natalis ke-52 akan semakin memperkuat kinerja universitas ke depan. Ada berbagai pencapaian besar yang diraih UNNES pada tahun 2016. Salah satunya akreditasi dari BAN-PT sebagai universitas unggul. Pencapapaian tersebut diharap memotivasi UNNES meraih prestasi lebih gemilang pada tahun-tahun mendatang.
