Wakil Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan bidang Pendidikan, Prof Dr Musliar Kasim MS, mengunjungi sejumlah sekolah di Kota Semarang, Sabtu (15/3). Didampingi Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum, kunjungan itu hendak memastikan pelaksanaan Kurikulum 2013.

Sekolah yang dikunjungi adalah SD Karangayu 3, SMP 2 Semarang, SMA 3 Semarang, dan SMK 7 Semarang. Di berbagai sekolah tersebut, Wamendikbud berdialog dengan guru dan murid.

Di SMP 2 Semarang, Musliar menekankan Kurikulum 2013 sesungguhnya tak jauh berbeda dengan Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan (KTSP) yang selama ini digunakan guru. Hanya, menurutnya, dalam kurikulum baru, guru harus punya empati yang lebih terhadap para siswa. “Guru harus melihat dan mencatat berbagai kelebihan dan kekurangan siswa,” jelasnya.

Musliar meyakini guru dan siswa akan lebih nyaman menggunakan kurikulum baru. “Guru harus inovatif dalam melakukan pembelajaran, bisa lebih leluasa mengolah kompetensi dasar dari kompetensi inti,” katanya.

Guru matapelajaran Seni dan Budaya di SMP 2 Semarang, Sudaryono, mengatakan Kurikulum 2013 lebih membebaskan guru dan siswa. Sumber belajar, menurutnya, bisa dari mana saja. “Dari internet, dari lingkungan sekitar. Siswa dituntut aktif dan belajar tidak terpaku di kelas,” kata dia.

Dari segi penilaian, Sudaryono mengaku jika kurikulum baru tak berbeda dengan sebelumnya. “Penilaian pun sama, ada penilaian, individu, kelompok, klasikal, dan semua itu harus didokumentasikan,” ujarnya.

Berkunjung ke SMA 3 dan SMK 7 Semarang, Musliar melihat langsung proses pembelajaran di kelas. Dia melakukan dialog interaktif kepada para siswa yang sedang diajar oleh guru. Musliar pun menginstruksikan kepada segenap guru supaya memberikan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual.

“Bisa saja kita memberikan contoh dengan kejadian yang sedang aktual. Jadi, guru tidak hanya berkutat pada masalah rumus dan memaksa siswa untuk menghafal deskripsi yang ada dalam pelajaran tertentu,” ujarnya.

Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum dalam kesempatan yang sama mengemukakan, tidak ada alasan bagi siswa untuk tidak melanjutkan ke jenjang yang lebih tinggi. Menurutnya, siswa SD dan SMP tidak lagi membayar SPP karena mendapat dana Bantuan Operasional Sekolah (BOS) dari pemerintah, pun di perguruan tinggi, pemerintah telah menyediakan dana bantuan pendidikan Bidikmisi bagi yang kurang mampu secara ekonomi.

“Sebagai gambaran, Unnes tahun ini telah menyediakan 1.850 alokasi beasiswa untuk siswa kurang mampu tetapi berprestasi. Maka, siapa pun harus sekolah, siapa pun harus kuliah,” kata Prof Fathur.
