Badan Narkotika Nasional (BNN) Provinsi Jawa Tengah terus aktif melakukan pencegahan penyalagunaan narkoba. Atas inisiatif Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Fathur Rokhman, BNN melakukan tes urin terhadap 6.180 mahasiswa baru Unnes di kampus Sekaran, Gunungpati, kemarin Senin (24/8).

Dari tes yang berlangsung hingga sore hari, BNN tidak menemukan satupun mahasiswa yang mengonsumsi narkoba.

Prof Fathur Rokhman mengatakan, tes urine dilakukan sebagai upaya Unnes dalam memberantas narkoba di lingkungan kampus. “Ini juga sesuai dengan instruksi Kementerian Riset Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi, untuk mencegah peredaran narkoba di dalam kampus,” katanya.

Rektor menambahkan, jika didapati mahasiswa yang positif menggunakan narkoba, pihak kampus tak segan untuk menindak tegas seusai regulasi yang telah ditetapkan. “Sanksinya bisa dikeluarkan, sehingga mahasiswa tidak menggunakan narkoba,” tandasnya.

Selain dilakukan bagi mahasiswa yang baru memasuki bangku perkuliahan, tes urine juga akan dilakukan ketika mahasiswa akan wisuda. Pembinaan berkesinambungan juga dilakukan sepanjang mereka menjadi mahasiswa aktif, yakni melalui kegiatan organisasi, sosialisasi bahaya narkoba, dan pengarahan pada kegiatan positif.
