Anda pernah naik mobil Ferrari? Lamborghini? Aston Martin? Kemungkinan besar belum. Anda pasti berpikir bahwa yang bisa gonta-ganti mobil mewah hanya Raffi Ahmad atau Syahrini. Ternyata alumni Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) juga ada yang hobi gonta-ganti mobil mewah. Namanya adalah Anjar Leksana alumni UNNES angkatan tahun 2007. Bukan karena dia selebritis. Bukan karena dia pengusaha. Tapi karena dia adalah seorang jurnalis di majalah otomotif ternama. Berikut adalah hasil wawancara singkat unnes.ac.id dengan Anjar.

Bagaimana Anda bisa menjadi jurnalis?

Sebetulnya saya tidak pernah berpikir untuk menjadi penulis atau jurnalis. Awalnya lulus dengan gelar Sarjana Pendidikan, saya bersiap untuk berjibaku dengan dunia akademis. Kilas balik singkat saja, sehari setelah lulus, langsung mengirimkan lamaran untuk menjadi guru ke sekitar empat puluh sekolah negeri. Namun nyatanya sampai beberapa waktu hasilnya nihil. Tak ada satu sekolah pun yang menghubungi saya. Padahal IPK saya cukup bagus.

Saat menjelang wisuda iseng-iseng saya buka web unnes.ac.id dan ada link lowongan kerja di media besar, Kompas Gramedia (KG). Singkat cerita, setelah langsung melamar dan melewati serangkaian test saya langsung diterima dan ditugaskan menjadi jurnalis ekonomi. Jujur inilah tempat paling istimewa untuk ‘menggembleng’ saya menjadi jurnalis sesungguhnya.

Kenapa sekarang pindah menjadi jurnalis otomotif?

Sekitar satu tahun lebih belajar dan memahami riuh rendah dunia ekonomi, akhirnya saya memutuskan untuk menjadi jurnalis otomotif dan bergabung di Autocar Magazine Indonesia di awal 2013. Ya, semua itu terjadi lantaran dari kecil memang sudah suka dengan dunia otomotif. Dan Autocar adalah majalah otomotif asal Inggris, yang juga media otomotif tertua di dunia. Mereka memiliki reputasi yang bagus secara global.

Apa saja tugas selama bekerja di majalah otomotif?

Saya menulis banyak berita untuk Autocar. Mulai dari berita ringan, berita feature seputar industri otomotif lokal dan global, hingga menulis hasil test drive berbagai jenis mobil. Dari semua itu paling asyik memang mengajak menari dan berseluncur bersama mobil-mobil ganas di sirkuit dan jalanan. Mungkin kalau dihitung jari ya sudah ratusan mobil yang sudah saya coba. Semakin banyak mencoba (test drive) mobil, semakin banyak pula belajar memahami masing-masing kharakternya.

Bagaimana rasanya menjajal Super Sportscars?

Wow! Itulah satu kata yang terlontar saat menguji supercar. Deru mesin dan decitan ban sungguh membangkitkan gairah untuk berkendara bersamanya. Kalau boleh bilang, rasanya tak perlu kaya raya untuk bersenang-senang bersama mobil keren seperti Ferrari, Maserati, McLaren, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Porsche dan masih banyak lagi.

Nah salah satu mobil paling gahar yang saya coba adalah menjajal Lamborghini Aventador S, dengan mode ‘Corsa’ yang paling galak. Saat mengaktifkan launch control dan menekan penuh pedal gas (akselerator) rasanya tubuh terlontar ke belakang, adrenalin mengucur deras, linear dengan tenaga besar yang tersalurkan melalui rodanya. Fantastis! Dan membuat ketagihan pastinya.

Untuk menjadi test driver supercar perlu tahapan. Kalau sesuai tradisi di tempat kami, setelah sering melakukan pengetesan mobil penumpang dan sportscar, barulah Pemimpin Redaksi mengizinkan untuk mengetes supercar. Beruntung Autocar sering mengirim saya untuk pelatihan cara memahami dan berinteraksi bersama supercar. Pelatihan lebih sering diselenggarakan di luar negeri dan beberapa kali di Indonesia bersama brand otomotif premium.

Sudah kemanana saja melakukan peliputan otomotif dan paling jauh ke mana?

Alhamdulilah sudah banyak ke luar negeri dan hampir menjelajah seluruh pulau-pulau di Indonesia, minus Papua. Saya sendiri lupa sudah berapa banyak negara yang sudah disinggahi. Yang jelas kalau Asia Pasific sih sudah ‘khatam’. Kemudian kalau liputan paling jauh dan paling berkesan adalah saat menguji Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

Mungkin agak pleonastis. Tapi saya adalah orang desa dan orang Indonesia pertama yang menjajal Lambo Huracan Performante di Italia. Menguji sampai benar-benar puas di Sirkuit Imola. Bahkan saya diizinkan untuk mencoba Lamborghini mengelilingi Kota Bologna sendirian tanpa instruktur dan alat komunikasi. Mereka sepertinya percaya betul dengan saya untuk mengujinya.

Berbeda dengan Jepang. Kalau di sana ngetes mobil jarang sekali diperbolehkan melintas jalan raya. Di Jepang lebih sering di sikuit. Entahlah, sepertinya SIM Internasional dari Indonesia kurang dipercaya di sana.

Apa saja kesibukan saat ini?

Baru-baru ini saya bergabung dengan Majalah Autobild (KG) dan menulis untuk beberapa media online. Masih menulis seputar otomotif. Nah ada tantangan baru. Kalau di Autocar disuruh translate naskah Autocar Inggris menjadi naskah bahasa Indonesia kan biasa. Sekarang tugasnya adalah menterjemahkan naskah dari Autobild Jerman. Dan itu sangat seru dan menantang

Kemudian selain itu, saya juga sedang belajar nge-vlog di Youtube, saya juga sedang ada Video Pilot Project bersama dengan salah satu TV swasta terkemuka. Nantinya kalau project tersebut lolos, bisa menjadi program anyar di TV tersebut. Doakan saja ya.

Pesan Anda kepada mahasiswa dan alumni UNNES?

Sederhana saja. Perbanyaklah tidur dan perbanyaklah makan. Nah kalimat tersebut baiknya jangan dicerna dengan cara pandang sempit. Cobalah dengan cara lain dengan sudut pandang, jarak padang dan sisi pandang yang luas. Sekian dan terimakasih.
