Alumni Jurusan Geografi Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) Dewi Kartika Maharani Praswida  terpilih untuk mengikuti acara Pre-synode Meeting di Vatikan Roma, Italia. Gadis yang diwisuda Desember tahun lalu ini mendapatkan kesempatan itu karena dinilai turut berperan dalam kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan keberagaman agama.

Pre-synode Meeting adalah pertemuan anak muda dari berbagai negara di Vatikan yang akan diselenggarakan pada tanggal 18 sampai 25 Maret 2018 mendatang. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan untuk membahas relasi anak muda Katolik dengan anak muda agama lain di berbagai negara.

Pertemuan ini adalah sebuah meeting pre-synodal, artinya sebuah meeting persiapan untuk mengumpulkan berbagai input yang akan dijadikan masukan pada saat meeting Synodal yang akan dilaksanakan pada Oktober mendatang. Meeting synodal sendiri ialah meeting akbar yang dihadiri oleh para uskup seluruh dunia dan diketuai oleh Paus.

Rektor UNNES Prof Fathur Rokhman berharap dengan turut berperannya Dewi dalam kegiatan ini dapat membawa nama baik universitas. Kiprah Dewi dalam menjaga kerukunan antarumat beragama merupakan hal positif bagi negara plural seperti Indonesia.

    Selamat kepada Dewi Kartika. Selama ini banyak orang hanya mampu memandang konflik Israel vs Palestina dari satu sisi saja: sisi Palestina saja, atau sisi Israel saja, sehingga tak mampu memecahkan akar konflik agama di dunia. Dewi Kartika mampu berdiri dari sisi Ibrahim (bapak dari kedua bangsa yang bertikai itu). Saya percaya bhw Dewi mampu bersikap sebagai orangtua bagi penyelesaian akar konflik agama di dunia.
